tbh, at first i kinda hated these videos because they were long and boring, but now im realizing that they really do help, and altho not the most entertaining, they are very helpful and you explain very well! thank you for the videos! : )
The reason for the US population's logistic growth (y approaches b), has nothing to do with carrying capacity, but rather decreasing fertility rate due to things like education and health care. In my view, the biology perspective of human growth is just wrong.
His description of exponential growth is somewhat inaccurate. Instead of the y=2^x pattern that he describes, initial growth of a population follows more of a Fibonacci pattern (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21...) or some multiple of that.
"I'm not going to be around, so it's no big deal" In other words, "screw you guys, I'm going to be dead by then, so you millennials can deal with the problems my generation caused." :) Ah, it's nice to have a bright future to look forward to.
Goodness, that's not where he was going with that at all. The man is just teaching the world some biology, for crying out loud. It isn't even his generation's fault that the world population is constantly increasing.
NO YOU MUST LIVE FOREVER TO HELP US BIO STUDENTS
