Brief Diana bio : Diana was abused & abandoned as a child and raised for a while in a Russian orphanage......her adoptive Mum provided voice & singing lessons to help Diana with the trauma.....Diana is a natural Contralto which, as you know, is the lowest female vocalist's register....she is also polyphonic (able to produce multiple notes or tones simultaneously)......this performance alone should make us all recognize and appreciate the talent of performers from the "world music" genre....thanks for reacting !........

I loved Diana, and you are right renditions where they give more room for her exceptional voice suits her better.
Also the rough ending made me felt the orchestra is in a hurry, not giving the performance air, space, short dramatic pause.
But the grown Diana's version was fascinating the nuanced differences compared to the kid version.

С помощью этого видео невозможно провести сравнение тогда и сейчас. Просто сопоставить громкость музыки и пения не получится. Бывают моменты, когда голос Дианы едва слышен. Но это может зависеть еще и от качества записи, а когда ты сидел вживую в зале, это было просто гармонично и фантастично.

It is not possible to make a comparison between then and now with this video. Just matching the volume of music and singing doesn't work. There are moments when Diana's voice is barely audible. But it may also depend on the quality of the recording and when you sat live in the audience it was just harmonious and fantastic.
