That's exactly right. I used this when I played elite youth football in Sweden. We were the second-best team in the country, and everything looked smooth until I got kicked out of the starting team. I realized my left foot was absolutely worthless and I spent the entire three months of the next summer shooting left shots, dribbling, tricking, and passing. My left foot got to 90 % of my right foot and I was back in the team again. I probably increased my overall capacity by 30-40%, simply by addressing my weak point.

I have a question Tom. For things like golf, tennis, football, or other sports like those, it is clear what to practice. If you can’t hit a shot, work on that. How can you apply this method to something like swimming or running though? I can’t just say “I’m not going to leave the pool until I swim a 24 second 50 freestyle” if I’m currently swimming a 28 second 50 free. That’s just not how it works. A sprinter can’t say he won’t go home until he has dropped 2 seconds on his hundred meter. How would you go about applying your method to these scenarios? Also, you mentioned you used this to learn a language. How? I’m also learning a language and plant to learn more in the future, but how am I supposed to apply this method to language learning? Overall though I still loved the video, thanks for spreading this good advice.
Think of how you can address the things (muscle,knowledge,etc.) you need for the boverall goal in a challenging way. For example, swimming. I guess you need cardio. How can you address cardio? How can you train it? What extra challenges can you build in?
Great video Tom! I'm a footballer and I can reckon that the times I got better at footy were when I was trying to learn something I couldn't do like juggling the bank for example. Doing 5, then 10 then 15 etc.. So yeah I have to do things I can't really do on my individual trainings if I want to improve. Cheers Tom!

This Happened to me 2 months back. I was in a exam. The exam was in a Local script. Students had the Option to write the exam in their own Script. I could speak the language but I couldn't write the script. Now while I was writing, The Principal came. I fucking shit my pants cuz my Mum is a teacher of that Language/script and I , his son couldn't write it. Fucking practiced that script my Whole life, but couldn't write a single sentence in it, I just said ," Fuck it, I am gonna write it no matter what or I'll be ashamed infront of my school". Wrote the whole exam in that Script, Now I don't need ANY PRACTICE, My friends Couldn't believe that I wrote the exam in their language, THAT DAY STILL SHOCKS ME.

That's exactly right. I used this when I played elite youth football in Sweden. We were the second-best team in the country, and everything looked smooth until I got kicked out of the starting team. I realized my left foot was absolutely worthless and I spent the entire three months of the next summer shooting left shots, dribbling, tricking, and passing. My left foot got to 90 % of my right foot and I was back in the team again. I probably increased my overall capacity by 30-40%, simply by addressing my weak point.

I have a question Tom. For things like golf, tennis, football, or other sports like those, it is clear what to practice. If you can’t hit a shot, work on that. How can you apply this method to something like swimming or running though? I can’t just say “I’m not going to leave the pool until I swim a 24 second 50 freestyle” if I’m currently swimming a 28 second 50 free. That’s just not how it works. A sprinter can’t say he won’t go home until he has dropped 2 seconds on his hundred meter. How would you go about applying your method to these scenarios? Also, you mentioned you used this to learn a language. How? I’m also learning a language and plant to learn more in the future, but how am I supposed to apply this method to language learning? Overall though I still loved the video, thanks for spreading this good advice.
