You might be thinking, "It's just a facelift and a little more power," but Aston Martin's super-ist of Super SUV's is much, much more than that. Yes, there is more power: seven hundred of them, and 663 lb/ft. It's also got an entirely new transmission, sourced from AMG's hottest performing variants, active swaybars and anti-roll control, and monstrous ceramic brakes. It's got better cooling, more aerodynamic bodywork, and better seats. But my favorite thing about the DBX707 is how the whole package delivers on an ultra-premium driving experience that is still unique to Aston Martin.

Fantastic review…these videos always make my day. 707 seems like a sweet package for a unique super-suv. Turbo GT takes the cake for me. I laughed when you said the outside tires didn’t have dirt on them with the negative camber, I love that
PS is pferdestärke which literally means Horse power in german. The difference is PS is 735 W while HP is745 W.
The way I calculate difference is for every 500 ps your bhp is 7 hp less. Meaning for 500 ps you have 493 bhp. It’s proportional all the way up and down. Thus 1000 ps is 14 bhp less (thus 986 bhp). And so on and so forth.
Wrong by the factor 1000 - the rest is accurate 😜

The 707 is sweet, i’d take it over urus. Aston has the class and quality, doesn’t feel like a VW.

My biggest problem with VW groups NA offerings is that the lines that separate Audi, Porsche, and Lambo are increasingly blurred but VW stays noticeably "poverty speced".

Not because they couldn't pull it off, I think because of their indentity as a brand it just never crossed my mind haha.
14:52 if you're going to use the paddles anyways, you likely don't need "Drive" (or neutral). Just pull a paddle (or both for neutral). That's how it works on my 10 year old Vantage.
I agree, however this is Astons mass market car so they need to make it function like one. Having to relearn those kinds of basic controls is a real turn off for most buyers.
Would it have been cooler and more true to the brand? Absolutely.
Good for sales? Almost definitely not.
@@xboy4331 I'm not sure that a $300k car can be considered "mass market". (pretty sure the "base" one still starts over $200k). And those buttons have been like that on all of their cars for decades. Ya, it's probably a longer reach in the DBX, but they were using the paddles so I figured I'd let them know there was another option.
@@LiqdPT sounds like I misunderstood your original comment. I thought you were saying Aston should do away with the drive and neutral buttons altogether and just use the paddles instead like with very early DCT's.

The Porsche Macan/Cayenne lines are strong with this one.
Of course, the ‘D’ drive button isn’t really furthest from reach - it’s just that you order Aston Martins with the steering wheel on the wrong side.
Always nice to have a good laugh at the start. Is basically the same as "hp"...so "Pferdestärken" (horsepower in german :D ) But nobody uses anything else than the abbreviation
So they made a more comfortable Cayenne Turbo GT. Impressive.

Unfortunately for mat, eating less is the best way to lose weight. It's hard to out exercise a bad diet.
Yeah the drive button being way over to the passenger's side makes no sense, until you see the right hand drive model and then you instantly realize why it's like that and face palm. Just like with the hood release they didn't bother re-configuring those buttons for left hand drive. So the order of the buttons is simply backwards in the left hand drive models. It's one of the baffling things about the DBX. Aston nailed it so great as far as looks, unique platform, power, handling, ect and than just blew it completely on some pretty basic and easy to get right things like lack of a HUD, circa 2014 infotainment, drive button on the wrong side for U.S. market, ect.

This 707 is a BEAST. Luv that its a single use platform. Full luxury.
Luv it in FULL CF trim both Ext & Int. and w/ those black logos and name plates in dark trim too.
Too bad it doesn't have massaging seats, a HUD & a pan roof that opens. I have a '22 X5 M Comp and am toying w/ the idea of trading it in on a 707.

Drive button far away - its b/c its made in Wales for the British people w/their RH drive. Did you notice where the hood/bonnet release lever is located inside?

I've been loving the reviews of this car. For the it factor, I think the DBX itself has that over the Urus and Benteyga since I've only seen one DBX on the road wanna that was just this summer. And Aston has always made attractive cars (Id marry one it they were personified lol) and as you guys said, it's got that sports car aesthetic that Aston does so we'll. Just not a fan of the old AMG-Merc infotainment and dial that this gets.
Hilarious to think of a $250,000 one car solution. The number of people who have this car alone you could count on Rick Allen's one hand.

At $250k, there should not be drawbacks > no touch screen, not the best speedo, hitting your head on the tail gate. At this price range, these are silly errors, to the point of being embarrassing. Not for a $50k car, but for a $250k car.

This will be interesting in 3-4 years when they are $60K.
I dont think they'll drop that low in such a short time. They will probably stay a bit higher considering they will be limited compared to other vehicles and one of the last hoorahs in gas powered performance SUVS.
@bpaul1201awesome the current Vantage was 150k 4-3 years ago, now they're sitting close to 100k. Give it another same period and they'll be below 100k. The DBX will come down a lot in a decade.

Matt, great review but spending that kind of money on a SUV with a Sport button is crazy. I'd rather have a new Rover Sport SVR.and many, many bucks left in the bank.

I assume the Drive select is agronomical for right hand drive lay outs. IE UK
Drive is far away because the steering wheel is on the wrong side of the car.
Good looking SUV but this thing will tank in value. Rather take an urus or turbo gt or G63

I Test drove one of these with my mom along with the Urus, G63 AMG and a cullinan because she wanted to trade her GLE53 AMG in (she said the rear view visibility was that bad I do not agree ) and this was my favorite aswell. Not that my opinion matters of course they are rich not me hahaha.

Not much faster and better, just different and that's why choice is a great thing
@@alfamonk Cayenne GT is faster around VIR than M3. We’ll see what Aston can do, assuming they even send one. And if you want choice, it’s an AMG underneath so basically a rebodied GLE63 for 2x the money. Because nothing says British car like a German V-8.

Why not just get a super sedan, wagon, or shooting brake? They carry just as many people and have exactly the same off road capabilities of these super SUVs-- absolutely none. At least they have a lower center of gravity and don't look like pigs.

AM is slowly correcting their horrible interior styling, but not quick enough. Their interiors 10 years ago were so much better, it's not even funny. They threw the car into reverse with their interiors.
It's almost like car manufacturers want the last decade of fossil fuel powered vehicles to be the most embarrassing.

I really hate these comparisons everyone is doing of ICE VS EV where you take a 700HP ICE car, compare it to a 1000HP EV and then make a comment that the 700HP one is slower. Of course it is. Why aren't we comparing apples to apples, HP to HP? All reviews do this, all Facebook comments, social media etc, like why would you NOT think the additional HP EV or not would NOT be faster with weight being near equal? That's my rant, nothing against the Vid, but when I hear even a subtle comparison it just drives me nuts. 3.1 seconds is bonkers, bat @#$ nuts for any car, yet alone this thing.
