Get and use a tick key on ticks. Most people can't use tweezers without squeezing the tick and making it regurgitate back into the wound. The tick key will pull the tick without putting any pressure on it.

If you walk through poison ivy, how do you deal with your boots? Assuming the boot and the laces are covered with the oils of the plant, and I need to keep wearing them for a few days.
Hmm, good question. I'd avoid touching them until you can get home and properly clean them. Not a great answer, but really it comes down to avoiding poison ivy as much as possible.

If you are stung by a bee you should never pull on the stinger as you can squeeze it to release more venom, use a credit card or something similar to swipe it out.
From what I've read, that's a common misconception. It's actually better to just get it out as quick as possible. Otherwise you'll waste time looking for a credit card.
You should never pull a stinger out you're likely just to push it back in further the solution is to scratch the skin this will pull it out but only scratched one way or this won't be effective
