Join me on Singapore Airlines' daily SQ222 flight from Sydney to Singapore in economy. The aircraft is showing its age but will the service be as good as they say?
I have been flying with Singapore airlines for more than a decade.. Majority of the times the service is good but I have had bad service also 3-4 times.. Overall i am happy
Great vdo. B77W not bad on your flight. A380 may have many pax. Foods look delicious. This plane the seatback TV not bad and had USB for charger iPhone or iPad.

The best onboard service I had so far is with Singapore Airlines! no other airline came near the extremely friendly staff with eye for details:) I thought Emirates would come close to it, but even though the flight with Emirates was nice, the onboard service wasn't as good as Singapore Airlines! They always make me feel at home on board. I will always choose SQ when they fly to the destination where I am going to!
+oop1991 Oh and the music is something what I really love about Singapore Airlines I don't think it is awful, it really helps making the landing much more relaxin for me.

My pet hate is people blocking the aisle and think it's their god given right to make everyone wait while they sort through their bag to find something they must have during the flight before trying to stuff the bag into the overhead locker. This is after they have sat in the departure lounge for at least 30 mins when they could have easily thought about what they will need for the next 8 hours.
S787iFly i agree 100% went to greece with singapore and there was this greek lady holding up the line for people to go to their seats due to she didnt know what over head bin she was meant to put it in. Not a great start to a 11 hour flight from singapore to athens
Great trip report. What was the actual flight time? I recently flew SQ HKG-SIN (and return) Business on the A380 and was very impressed with their product. I want to fly them again.

zerberus500 I flew on 5 October and sat in 43A which is one of only two pairs of seats as they are in front of the left side economy toilets. I had booked the upstairs window pair on the A380 before they swapped the 380 with the 777W so this was the next best option. I'm looking forward to the seating refresh as these seats are showing their age (along with the windows!!!) LOL
S787iFly They should be updating the cabins soon. Quite a few of their aircraft are getting rather old, and we know that SQ likes to keep a relatively young fleet.

I'm almost flying SFO-SIN with same model plane. I saw your seat next to restroom(toilet) and food area. Is there annoying food cart moving, people using restroom? How about enough room to recline seat? Thanks
Hi Kelly. All meals and drinks are included on Singapore. As for the toilets, they are standard economy class toilets. I'm not sure what you need to know. There aren't windows in them if that is what you are asking.
Philip Baker Hi Phil. I picked the seats are are only two sets of two on the SQ 77W. The recline is the same as all others. Perfect location with no one behind you. Didn't notice the bathroom for noise. I usually have my ear buds in anyway when flying. Stephen
S787iFly I think its more about the plastic they use over the windows on the inside. that inner plastic shield lasts all of about 10 min, if that, without getting scratched up. its normal.
Sorry, I can't recall. Just have a look on seatguru.com. It's the last row in the first economy cabin. Will easily locate it as it only has 2 seats compared the rest which have 3.
Urs Odermatt I did book the A380 but SQ swapped the aircraft due to 'low demand' several months earlier. Then guess what, the 777-300 was 100% full so they really should have held their nerve and kept the 380. I've been on the 380 before and love the upstairs cabin.

pbateson yes these days a USB or power outlet is vital on long haul flights.
Today was the first time I took sia on the newest a350 from sg to hk and I’m going on 777-300er when I’m coming back amazing

SQ is definitely better than MH.
I just flown on Singapore airlines from Brisbane to Bangkok with a stopover in Singapore of course. Always a comfortable flight and great service.

John Nolewajka Sorry John, I don't recall the exact flight time but it was around 7hrs or maybe a bit less.
Brisbane to Singapore is 7 hours 10 min. Brisbane to Sydney is about 1 hour or less. So Sydney to Singapore is approx. 8 hours. :)
