The USA stopped doing 2D animation because it become too costly due to national development. Japan has been heading in the same direction as they become more developed, which is why we see Korea and China are starting to pick up 2D animation as they are less developed than Japan. Generally Japanese 2D animation has been on a downturn since the mid 2000’s. Akira, Ghost in the Shell, and Redline are usually cited as some of the greatest 2D animation to come out of Japan.

このアニメが放送されていた当時、たまにテレビのチャンネルを変えるとこのアニメがやっていて、「なんて恥ずかしいアニメだろう」と思っていたなぁ…
当時の私は小学生だったから当作品に、恥ずかしさをより強く感じていたし、内容も難しくて理解もできなかったけど…この癖の強い曲は1度聴いただけで忘れる事はできないほど強烈だよね。
歌詞や歌い方もセクシーなのはもちろんだけど、個人的に歌声もあまり好きじゃないから余計に印象に残るのだろうなと、先日某バラエティー番組のヒトカラをしている人に密着する趣旨の企画で、女性がこの曲を歌っていてすぐ思い出して聴きにきた。
