That image of Frodo and Sam walking gave me PTSD flashback of that 9 hour video of Fellowship of the Ring, except every time Sam takes a step, he says its the farthest away from home hes ever been

Like the mental acuity required and what it must feel to experience not only the fall but to combat such a foe as a Balrog
And the man let's go! He could have scurried off, he could have pulled himself up. I'm guessing the Balrog would have chased them down, maybe the books reveal more context

Damn, im almost 40 years old, and i still love this movies. Im very glad that Peter Jackson bring this fantasy in my life. Big thank for amazing soundtrack.
And you'll still love them at 50. I still do. And I don't mind that they're not 100% accurate from the books. Still think JRR would be proud.
I'm so glad that I got to experience the LOTR trilogy in my lifetime. Coming back to these movies time after time is escapism at its best.

Same and i seen the first Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the ring when it came out in the theater.
I think they should replay these films on the big screen every 10 years so each new generation of children can experience the same wonder as we did when we saw them for the first time.
DVDs are great and all, but they'll always pale in comparison to the cinema experience.
I still can't believe it's been 20 years since they first came out. So bittersweet.
It's a dream ❤ but was pale in Theater comparing to when I read the books. The movie is beautifull, but somehow the story is always better in my mind of reader. There is as well nothing about Tom Bombadil in the movie and it made me a bit sad of it.

When I was 13 I went for an MRI scan and I was allowed to bring in a CD to relax me. I brought in the LOTR album. All I remember is listening to "At the sign of the Prancing Pony" and "A Journey in the dark". Apparently, the music could be heard in the waiting room...
I feel that. I was young when I had my first MRI, I listened to a Celtic CD my mom had as this was before I had a LOTR CD but I imagine this music brought you peace during a scary experience

I was thinking the same thing until I watched LOTR in concert. You watch the film and the music is played by symphonic orchestra. It is a lifetime experience .

Roots and Beginnings brings me a lot a nostalgia. It was one of the first songs I got for my iPod with I first got into Lord of the Rings, and I listened to it on replay along with a handful of others.
Some of the best music in the series! (and then just as I am writing this, the urukai going to war song comes on....)

My first real girlfriend in high school cheated on me and dumped me after 2 years. I was young and it destroyed me. Watching this trilogy was the only distraction that let me forget about her for a few hours at a time. I will forever cherish the extended edition DVD set of this trilogy

Pippin's song at 1:15:40 is a lovely, haunting tune - marred by Peter Jackson's questionable directorial choice to have macro-closeups of Denethor stuffing his face with cherry tomatoes while Pippin was singing it. Not a nice image to go with the song. It's the only scene in all the movies that I really don't like. The rest of the films are perfect - and I love this compilation.
I see what you're saying, but that's the entire point of that shot. Pippin (and everyone else in Minas Tirith) is mourning the almost certain death, not only of Faramir, but of everyone else that went with him, and Denethor just doesn't care at all. That contrast is the entire point of the scene, and your dislike of it means that it did exactly what it was supposed to do.

It is gross but that is the point. After you watch it a few times you'll get used to it. Pippins song is one of my favorite scenes from the Return of the King.

I have the special extended DVD Edition from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Cinema Version was good, very good. But the DVD'S are the "heros" of the films😁
Online the books are better. Ich have almost all of the books from Tolkien. They are mysteriösen treasrures.

I love the first trilogy (extended edition! The theatre cut was horrible). I really do. But witnessing all the bloody "franchise" stuff that happened to Tolkien's works afterwards makes me wish they never happened.

the truth of this movie is understandable to the open minded and this movie has started in reality. it is about people who are divided into several states and who in ancient times fight for their lands. and this people fights evil and wants national unity, also this people has a lot of wealth and this is the Mountain of Gold for them. it is understandable to the open mind which people it belongs to. they are in many religions nowadays for the purposes of their enemies who destroy them and mix the races but most of them will not betray the nation and when I say most are many.. their language is as old as the foundations of this world. even setting out in the world, open-minded people surely understand who they are. they are the sons of Eagles 🦅🦅

I've listened to the full soundtrack from all 3 films a hundred times (probably not exaggerating) and I don't recognize it. It must be a tribute, or similar song that fits the theme, or perhaps a bonus track I'm not aware of?
