the people that immediately dismissed this version have a closed mind to melodic death metal. they walked into this expecting to hear the soothing sounds of 1989 Bach (nothing wrong with that) but to hear raspy unclean lyrics and a faster pace doesnt sit right with them
Anyone who dislike this and anything Alexi or Norther ever did is a poser. Bach rules, and so does this cover. I move the video of Bas sneaking up on alexi onstage and surprising him. Alexi looked so happy as I too would be. I'm glad I got to meet cob n give em my gratitude. I'd sure love to see or meet Norther too!
Been listening to Skid Row for a long tiiiiime. Been listening to Norther for a looooooong time. Been listening to their Final Countdown rendition, and I, just today, 09/18/2019, just discovered this. Damn.
Hek yeah. It's ironic how many ppl mislabeled the final countdown cover as a cob song. When I 1st heard it long ago on napster it was labeled as cob...lmfao.
I guess I'm weird in that I like glam-metal, traditional metal, death metal, black metal, etc. all about equally. To me, this is pretty damn good. I still prefer the original, but this is a nice take on an awesome, classic song.
I'm right there with you comrade...your not weird...you just have a good and higher taste in musicianship. These genres you n I like; require extreme classical music disciplines and talent like no other music genre besides classical Orchestra itself.
I think besides my own band; Norther is the only black thrash band to cover youth gone wild. It is the ultimate song of metal rebellion. If your young at heart you are: THE YOUTH GONE WILD!
