    So many doodle haters in the comments lol its okay that people like different dogs than you. Poodles and doodles can both be great dogs.

    I think this lady is a very experienced groomer!! She will no best, why are her comments regarding doodles taken as a negative. Surely it can be taken as a positive and novices can learn from her experience.!

    I have had two Australian Labradoodles. Both have been calm, quiet, and just the sweetest companions ever. Both had the temperament to be therapy dogs. I happen to love poodles also. I very much resent the comments made in this video concerning “doodles.

      As a doodle owner who also loves poodles, I so much appreciate you focusing the criticism on owners and not the dog itself. So many people are critical of doodles for things are the fault of the owner and not the dog.

    Until recently I've wondered why people who love the Doodle look why don't they get a Barbet or a Portuguese Water Dog. Recently I've decided it's probably because Doodles are so prevalent, easy to find and since Doodle breeders are more merchant than exhibitor they treat people who buy their puppies as customers - with deference.
    Many of the rare breed dogs are in danger of extinction because show exhibitors are so "fussy" and demanding with puppy buyers.... this fussiness also benefits Puppy Merchants by sending buyers their way.

    I do find this interesting as it has not been my experience, as a groomer and a Goldendoodle breeder, that Goldendoodles are wild. It could be that there are a lot of poorly bred ones and some with a total lack of training that have led to this groomer's opinion. However, with Golden Retrievers and Poodles being in the top 5 for intelligence and both being such great family dogs, unless breeders are using poor specimens, a Goldendoodle should really be a wonderful dog that's easy to train. All non-shedding dogs are high maintenance, including poodles. I have been a professional groomer for over 12 years and have had a lot of experience with grooming, training and working with all 3 breeds. I felt a need to comment so the doodles overall are not given a bad rap.

    • @ThisbeandPyramus
      @ThisbeandPyramus 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think they mean Goldendoodles are wild IN COMPARISON to Poodles. Poodles are EXTRAORDINARILY easy house dogs. Extremely low drive (except for play drive) and just that much more COMPOSED. I had both Goldens and Poodles growing up (not Goldendoodles) and the Poodles were so superior (for my tastes) that all my friends thought my preference was odd because for so many years it's been in fashion to dislike Poodles. But living with both made TRUTH win out. Of course some people LIKE more dog than a Poodle. In that case I'd advise a Border Collie or a Kelpie rather than a Golden or Goldendoodle.

    • @EC2019
      @EC2019 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Come on now. There is no well-bred mixed breed dog. They are all poorly bred, that's the whole point.

      People with good specimens don't use them to make mixed breed dogs. It's the neurotic backyard bred dogs that are used to make doodles.

    • @JillPickle416
      @JillPickle416 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! My Goldendoodle is AMAZING and I wouldn't trade him for anything! Best dog I have ever had! He was a little crazy as a pup - but when he lost his baby teeth things only went up from there. Now, at age 2 he is a calm, sweet gentleman. My best furry friend! I also have a happy accident doodle, lol - she is part lab, part boxer, and half poodle. I got her from some breeders who had a dog break into their yard and get their poodle pregnant! She is also very sweet - neither one have a mean bone in their body! She looks just like a labradoodle! Anyway - I love both poodles AND doodles! Can't we just all get along? ; )

    I have a male golden doodle 1.5 yrs old who could not be further than all your dislikes about doodles. He has a wool type coat and does not mat, but we brush him nearly everyday. And his muzzle is always a mess. I do like the look of the cut. I don’t think my inexperienced groomer knows some of these techniques, like around the eyes. I have previously had a standard black poodle with entropion and it was a pain. We had surgery done on him and it did not help much.

    We are getting a GoldenDoodle (1/4 English Golden 3/4 Standard poodle X Standard poodle) pup in January. I have been looking for a grooming video that made more sense. To me this cut makes a lot of sense. I do not like when the dogs mat. I have long curly hair myself and know how badly it hurts to get tangles. I cannot think about how painful mats must be. I have been watching the other videos by others wondering why not do the poodle eyes like this. I really love how you did this cut. Thank You.

    Why bash on doodle owners?If people take care of their dog properly want to come and learn stuff to be a better owner, you cannot talk negative stuff about them throughout the video. I have an aussiedoodle and she is beautiful, smart too! She is a breeze with training and very well behaved. I came here to learn a bit more about grooming and all I got was hate 😅

  • @ivyrose779
    @ivyrose779 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow. It’s so sad to hear the passive aggressive doodle hate in this video. There are plenty of problems with doodles. However, the problem is not with the doodles themselves, but (as always) with people. As with any breed/type of dog, it is SOOO IMPORTANT to research both the pros and cons of the breed you’re interested in, their personality, need for exercise, grooming, etc. and (most important imo) to find a good, ethical breeder. That means, at a minimum, one that does all of the recommended health testing for the breed(s), focuses on producing solid structure and temperament, properly socializes the puppies and starts training during the time they have them, and will be a support to you and your new pup for the entire life of the dog. People also need to realize that dogs are dogs and require adequate exercise, ongoing training, and attention. It’s a lot of work, but they’re so worth it!

      She was simply pointing out that most standard poodles are easyer to live with and travel with because they have better brains. So she grew out her poodle to do the demo and not loose her mind hanging out with a golden-doodle. She was NOT sending hate-rays to mutt dogs. Just pointing out some true facts.

      @@brookeneiswanger9568 I've always noticed Doodle people going on and on about hating Poodles. Also, in every Doodle grooming video you'll hear someone saying, "Don't do this - it'll look like a Poodle, don't cut that way - it'll look like a Poodle.
      If people hate Poodles so much why do they want a dog that's 3/4 Poodle (an F1B)?
      I think people just enjoy HATING on Poodles.

    $5,000 - $3,000! whoever is paying that for a Goldendoodle is nuts. We paid 1,400.00 and according to the groups I belong to, it's hight. Most people are paying around 400.00 to 700.00. Met lots of Labradoodles and Goldendoodles at our play group. Never met one that is hard to deal with. I had a standard poodle many years ago, nice dog but there is a big difference between a mix of Golden Retriever and poodle. Lady doesn't know what the heck she's talking about. Btw lots of video's on here of people grooming Doodles with NO issues. The other comment is correct, that there is a waiting list across the country for a rescue doodle.

    I do not agree with statements towards doodles...
    I love my Black Goldendoodle.
    He is very hyper when he is excited. But he just turned one. Everyone I know who has a goldendoodle says they calm down more around 2.5-3 years of age. Because I have a child who is high energy and on the Autism Spectrum. Our Kylo works for our family. And he is the calmest with myself (his momma)and my 2.5 year old daughter. He lets her climb all over him and loves on her. With my husband and son who is 7. They are really his playmates. He is a smart dog.
    But I will he is very anxious with certain groomers. I think there is a reason.
    I am a firm believer you get what you pay for. Meaning when I took him to be groomed at a high end groomer in town. They said no matted areas. His coat was beautiful. Not trouble. That I was doing a great job.
    Then I thought I’d try a groomers that is a little lower price compared to first one.
    The second one complained. Said he wasn’t easy to groom. He had a lot of mats. That they had to shave him down.
    Which I couldn’t believe since I brush him every 2 days.
    I personally believe the second groomers did not have proper training nor patience. And the atmosphere was not a happy one. Compared to the first groomer.
    The first groomer purposely only books 1 to 2 dogs at the same time. That way the dogs do not become overwhelmed.
    Doodles are smart they sense when you tense 😬 So calm the freak down! Show them love and give them praise for holding still. Then the next time they come back to you they will behave better!

    • @Anon_E_Muss
      @Anon_E_Muss 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So many shop owners or "managers" do not follow the groomers booking template, which causes overbooking. Overbooking means we don't have any extra time to do anything other than shave everything down... I hate that. That's a huge problem in a lot of shops that do not listen to each groomers scheduling needs. I've been there talk to the groomer and tell her your expectations and also make sure yiy book extra time for dematting / being extra patient with your dog. A new groomer has to learn each dog's specific quirks, and vice versa. Going to the same groomer makes it easier for the dog and the groomer, because both know each other's routine and that in itself eases anxiety.
      There's a lot to grooming that owners don't know about, so to ease things, just talk to your groomer and book extra time for your dogs appointment. Hope that helps.
