This would make a glorious space for unhoused people. They would have adequate shelter from the elements, access to electricity and running water, and there is plenty of space for social services, healthcare, free food services, and safe-zones for narcotic ingestion - which they so desperately need. Good riddance to a capitalist monument to greed and overconsumption. Let’s hope the city planners in San Francisco seize this opportunity to do something good for their community.
Me and few other people squatted in the empty stores of a dying mall, security didn’t care. Unfortunately the sheriffs department kicked us out, and the irony was that the local junkies and gangs took over. After a SWAT team raid and clear out, the mall building was demolished.
That “capitalist monument’’ provided quite a few jobs and tax revenue in its prime………you know that $$$ stuff needed to help “unhoused’ people…and maybe even help them become housed again…
