I know this is a long shot but are there and descendants of William and Rebecca West of Lurgashall from the 1700s still in this region? I am trying to confirm links between my family who can be traced back to a William Riley West who appears in the records in North Carolina in the 1800s.
I have found a loose connection from possibly a William Riley West who's parents are John and Elizabeth Ivey (Burtonshall) West. John's parents are William and Rebecca West from Lurgashall, Sussex England.
I do know they are christening and death records on file for two of their other children named Susan and William in around June 1728 and November 1728. Its in the Sussex records for that region.
