Did u check the pump oil I just got a 99 gtx the first I did was change the pump oil someone didn't put the O ring and was full of water bad for bearing
All of them rattle a bit but the only reason this one is so loud it has the Solas stainless steel impeller every ones I've heard with the Solas does the same I have a 98 xp limited with the Solas also it rattles too

Dude, you really shouldnt leave it running like that unless you have the hose hooked up.
One thing I don't miss about 2 stroke skis is the startup.
