6 sled dogs? Rookie numbers. You can get 24 if every player in a 4 player game brings 4 sled dogs and 2 memories of another life, and then use 3 Teamworks to put all the dogs under 1 player's control. Though I'm not sure even Charlie Kane with Rod of Animalism can reach 12 ally slots (and he can't take MoAL either)
Charlie Kane with Charisma x2 and Rod of Animalism would be limited to a mere 18 Sled Dogs, I believe? We can attain this with just one other Investigator in the group taking MoAL. The other Investigators (including Charlie) take 4 Sled Dogs each, for a total of 12... and the MoAL Investigator brings 6. But I can see the complaints already... 18 damage leaves 4-player Umordhoth with 4 health remaining. Wholly unappealing.
I think Eric missed that because the investigate is fast on the investigate one, you don't need to evade the enemies first. Also, if they're engaged with someone else.
Memories of another life to drop in a free Leo De Luca? Sounds like a generally strog thing to do, extra action every turn and not have to pay the 6 resources plus in decks that would never normally be able to play him seems strong.
About memories: what is “collection”? We have huge holywar in our chat about “only one copy of every product is counting” and stuff. As example we have parallel Jim deckbuilding and rules for upgraiding both of your decks from Duke
Agatha: Seems fascinating, love that card pool as I'm a mystic at heart but the spike in me forces me into seeker very often. I agree that I would have loved to see the traits flipped. Captivating Performance: Looks way too annoying to trigger unless there's some weirdness in assets. When you need to "perform" 3 different actions, how does that work? If all the weirdness of using the actions that Eric asked about you could potentially fast in a shrivelling and activate it to fight where you get all 3 actions triggered, then it just goes to the moon in Dexter. He's going to be out there taking a 10 action turn with mystic assets. Dial of Ancients: Cataclysm can be autofail negation very easily for a long time. Fight/evade with +1 damage and no stat boost, probably not worth 4xp. The fast investigate is really really nice.
Regarding Agatha, the 35 deck size is brilliant design. Since her ability removes cards from the game, you can still use her ability and not end up with a much smaller deck (probably good for power gamers and casuals in the grand scheme). Her weakness also only shuffles back in, so if you haven't really removed any cards with her ability yet, the chances of seeing it are less. Likewise, when you start using her ability a lot, the chance of seeing her weakness increases due to your deck having cards removed. Spell 0-3 and Insight 0-3 aren't exactly barren wastelands of pools as well, so it feels like there's actual variety between the card pools. Super solid.
Lucius, Edtritch Sophist, The Red Clock, and Signs of Cataclysm. There is now a combo that is possible to remove the autofail token from the bag for the rest of the scenario, and set yourself on whichever benefit you want...like an extra action every turn. I think this is why they avoided giving a Seeker 0/5 Rogue 0/2 for so long. Gonna be OP!
I’ll probably do this combo with Ursula! Less value as she won’t get the clue from the evasion, but I enjoy a bit of jank in my Arkham. I expect Lucius will be mega strong and mega dull, like most seekers
@@davidwellman6422 Mystics could already do similar sort of combos to keep the autofail out of the bag. I think it's less powerful than you are implying it is.
Great video! But i wanna well lets say discuss your captivating preformance example with look around the 8:20 mark! You fight with shrivelling (fight , activate ) then move and then rite of seeking (investigate, activate ) that is activation so captivating would not trigger! so idk draw a card or something then rite of seeking but still this is gonna cause some nice mental power for the person playing the card!
This is part of the reason why I say in the video it really depends on how they define different with this card in comparison to Haste. Because it really swings the power of this card lower if it works that way.
I have to wonder if for Haste you maybe used a word that made it more complicated? I've always thought of it as shriveling would count as EITHER an activate or fight. Meaning you pick the type that leads to a haste action. With the new card, it would make sense if you had to use shriveling twice, one counting as activate and one as fight, then do a 3rd type of action to get the 4th action. If one use of an asset can count as activate and 2nd thing, then that card is much more interesting for sure
If you play with the top card revealed, then people will know what card you draw. Does that cancel out the Peril Key word? I would imagine it does, if people already know you have the card and all the information on it, you should be able to commit cards to skill checks if other investigators now, since you know of their plight.
Did they balance Memories on the assumption that people only have 1x collection. Also, does this let you get a 2nd copy of an exceptional or limit-1-per-deck card?
@@PlayingBoardGames oh Sorry I thought you meant she has recursion which is a strong ability, so they gave her a debuff because she can play stuff from her graveyard so she should make a little more effort in finding them. My under-planning "Improvised sale pitch specialist" - Bob Jenkins wants that Nautical Charts one so BAD!
This is really shaping up to be a very interesting Investigator Expansion. 100% agree on wishing the traits on the Agathas were swapped.

I was waiting for Justin to bring him up when Eric kept talking about bringing in allies that give extra actions lol
Def thought Leo first as well
Loved the video! That Pickman art is so good!
I come from the future with a message: anchor chain has taken over the entire format.
It has so much potential!!!
The captivating performance + haste dexter deck is gonna be fun

Bide Your Time with Memories of Another Life could be good if true !
I'm getting even more pumped for this expansion.
This investigator expansion is really cool. Lots of very interesting cards that are completely unlike any previous cards.
eye of Ghatanothoa w "fool me once" (on a guardian ofc) - potentially very powerful to avoid Anicient Evil cards

Memories... is a search. So if I'm at the same location as Mandy I get two cards?
She does say "Their deck or the Encounter deck"
But I love where your head is
@rowdygiles3833 aw, boo. I saw the word search and got excited. Should have read Mandy.
For Memories, does "end of game" mean end of scenario or end of campaign?

@PlayingBoardGames it definitely does. It will be exciting to see how FFG says this new card works

I long for the all Eye deck
I think Agatha is 35 because she removes cards for the game. Probably wanted to avoid creating mini decks
