I honestly do not think I have ever seen a kit built to this spec and grade. Thank you BSS for thinking about a system that has not already been done thousands of times over. Smart and functional. Going to have to see about putting one together for myself. However I cannot guarantee the compass due to it's cost which is higher than any other piece of gear within the kit. Thank you, sir!
Thank you I appreciate the kind words. I like the compass but it is not necassary. it is a high price. there are more modest priced quality versions out there.
I've watched this video so many times now, I've lost count. It really is a solid kit and very well thought out. I keep thinking on how to make it better, and really, outside of a small glue stick and a small 8 hour liquid candle or something, it's perfect as far as I'm concerned. Keep up the great work.
some other items that come to mind..that might fit are 1. Hvy duty Tin foil 2. Candle / Wax 3. snare wire 4.P 38 5.Antibiotic cream / headache pills in a straw 6.band aids 7. small pencil with an acordian booklet 8.Latex gloves
Hey man I subbed you a couple videos ago. This S.E.R.E. kit is pretty good as an EDC kit. Not too many bells and whistles, just what you would immediately need in a critical situation. I've done hundreds of hours of research and learning on what I call YT University. I came across your site and I like what I see. No BS, just good gear and a no non-sense delivery. By the way, those who know survival or bushcraft and don't quite have a handle on the S.E.R.E. concept will probably be the first ones most severely affected during a SHTF situation or other disaster. I like to think I have a good shot because of the things I've learned from men like you. Thanks for your info and keep on informing us. I'll be looking forward to checking out your other vids.
Outstanding! very well thought out kit. I have many of same items in my Altoid tin kit except for cuff key/shims and lock picks I plan to pick up some from your store. Just spent couple hours watching several of your videos I like your style of instruction, I am also former military and am familiar with many of your topics but it is always good to review. Well done sir keep up the good work.
Nice setup, Jack! I have the basic one, like yours, minus the items you placed in there. Gave me some great ideas, too. Just picked up the SUMA Pro with the large 6061 aluminum container. Kit looks promising as a "backup" survival kit for my rucksack. Great job on the video, too.
I used to carry a SERE kit on my SV-2 that had a tablet that was a magnesium type and once you lit it, you could boil water and it did not give off any smoke. I've not seen them lately. It was hell hot in a 1 inch X 1 inch tablet.
Two questions 1) why did you not choose to put a mylar or other emergency blanket in your kit and 2) how do you intend to use that kevlar cordage considering if its in the kit you are not getting to it once cuffed. Just curious not trying to knock it at all.
And remember,...........it don’t do no good,.........if you don’t bring it! Also,...very important is to test this gear. Lots of so called survival gear is junk. Buy quality stuff! Firecraft in poor weather is huge! Far more important than a fishing kit. A good firecraft only box is worth its weight in gold! Keep ones in your glove box of your car and truck. Birchbark never goes bad,..and very waterproof. Starting a fire is easy! Maintaining a fire is something else. Saw is fine,...Axe is way better. Nice video! Be prepared,....be ready!
another good video. I sees the comments on a lot of your videos and your response is funny to a lot of these goobers. just more entertainment. thanks. lol
Could you tell me how you folded your Water Collection bag up? Currently building a survival kit based around the Sulkoa container and am having a hard time fitting all the items in because of the bag. It is also 1 liters just like yours in the video. Thank you and love your videos by the way.
I am absolutely impressed: This is a great minimalist kit. I have 2 questions: Where did you get the compass? & Would you go for the small tin or the Large? Thanks again I am learning a lot!
Hey, good kit, what about adding some more first aid items ,considering that it's a s.e.r.e kit and shit has just hit the fan, you might just want to ad some gauze pad or a tampon for Bullet would sealing. Bye
Awesome and well thought out kit! I have one serious question though. I see the need for every item in the kit except for one. What good would the handcuff keys and shims do you in your kit? I could see you using it to help someone else escape, but you likely would not be allowed to keep your kit if you yourself were detained with cuffs. What would you do in that situation?
In survival training you will learn that you layer your kit on your person once found in a survival situation. The same applies here with these items. These are more or less back ups to the e&e gear I already have on my person on a daily basis.
I'm truly sorry but I have to ask what S.E.R.E stands for???? Bare in mind that I don't know much about the subject and I want to learn more that's why I subscribed :) great vids BTW
I've seen so many people carrying p38's what is the point? Are you just do happen to stumble over a can of beans in the woods? There are ways of opening a can without a opener that can take up the space of a lighter.
. I've been watching loads of survival tin vids recently and I'm starting to think that maybe spreading the bits out over one's person ,might make sense, that way you are less likely to lose everything and increase accessibility of each item. If you had a planned layout it could work, anyone got any thoughts. Seeing handcuff tools buried at the bottom of a tin just makes me wonder if there are better solutions
I've got plenty of videos showing that. I've also got a magazine article in American Survival Guide where I talk about this. Go watch my video layering your survival kit. SERE kits are for last ditch. If you still have it you have not been captured. In which case you then layer the kit. If you had been trained in SERE that would make sense to you.
Why dont you have anything in the kit to collect water in, so you can use your water purification talets? Even military carry non lubricaded condoms in their personal survival kit/tin.
I’ll still take my Swiss Army knife over most other multi tools. Keep it on you at ALL times,....use it often, proficiency in these tools is just as vital. Accidents add unneeded stress to an already stressful situation. And Water should be among your prime considerations. Dehydration is the biggest enemy! Lose it.......and you are a hurting confused unit.
Compass Vital. Without knowing which way to go........you can end up worse, more frightened,......and a deep feeling of helplessness. Which really sucks cause your all wound up,....and you don’t know were to go. Direction,...were I’m going. Is the start. No compass? Best stay were your at......doing circles wastes valuable energy! Climb a tree,...use the stick and shadow method of finding north. Start from a known,......then to another. Ridgeline,....River,......heading south let’s say.
I think his intro sound effects/music are open sourced, royalty free stuff. The outro on one of his earlier videos was actually the same exact outro RoosterTeeth uses/used (haven't watched in awhile). Very knowledgeable guy, though. Great content.
+Elliott Bjerke you know. If your in a situation do you leave everything in the kit untouched? You know that your in danger once your in it. We are trained on layering our kit once in the situation. I guess You just got to have the training to understand.

NICE KIT ONE OF THE THINGS I ALWAYS CARRY IN MY SURVIVAL KITS IS A SET OF SURICAL SUTURES & MED TAPE
I've watched this video so many times now, I've lost count. It really is a solid kit and very well thought out. Hands down one of the best psk on TH-cam👍
Return with Honor! Former SERE instructor USAF
Excellent looking kit Jack! Your personal kit looks just as good as any commercial kit I've seen. Very squared away.
Sweet lil kit!
Thank you
Cool kit. A little peace of mind. Thanks.

Hey brother great video. Sometimes I just go back and watch these again. Lol
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR MY MORNING CLASS WITH A TEAXHER THAT DOESN'T MIMD ME DRINKING MY COFFEE
Thank you for your video. One of the best compact kits I'v seen so far.
Wow. Holds a lot. Very well thought out. Thanks for sharing.

BSS,
Can you finally respond to us all wondering where did you find your aircraft aluminium tin?
Thanks
GET IT HERE www.precisionriflesupply.com/Suma-Small-Survival-container-p/suma-small-survival-container.htm
You have about everything in the kit you need except for a saw, a larger compass, and a knife to start fires if you don't have one on you.
Excellent kit !
After reading some of these comment I don't think some of these ppl even have a clue what SERE even is or stands for...
They are lost. I try to explain to them and they tell me I'm wrong. Lol

How well does that case do, in seawater? Thanks.
Cool kit. I collect compasses. Where do you find the NATO button compass?
Look for a NATO Survival kit, made in the U.K. that's how I got mine.
très complet,impressionant,petit,efficace
Hey, black scout survival.Where did you get your sowing kit in this kit?

I've seen so many people carrying p38's what is the point? Are you just do happen to stumble over a can of beans in the woods? There are ways of opening a can without a opener that can take up the space of a lighter.
P 38 can openers are small and this works in urban and rural environments
thanks appreciate it man.
One ear is well informed. (Left)
sorry what s the brand of the botton compass?
Thanks

I keep that in my wallet

hmm look at levitating gamers intro... is it open sourced or who copied who?
I think his intro sound effects/music are open sourced, royalty free stuff. The outro on one of his earlier videos was actually the same exact outro RoosterTeeth uses/used (haven't watched in awhile). Very knowledgeable guy, though. Great content.
Nice little kit, thanks for sharing. I like the tin
If your in cuffs, most likely they have already checked your person and taken your kit off you.
+Elliott Bjerke you know. If your in a situation do you leave everything in the kit untouched? You know that your in danger once your in it. We are trained on layering our kit once in the situation. I guess You just got to have the training to understand.
