    I believe that this video is absolutely amazing, I spent a majority of my High School career at a Charter school where we learned about things like this and I've even showed this video to different organizations as part of different presentations.
    It's amazing how we are so dependent on information, and I'd like to go back to my High School today and do this presentation again.

    The China statistic about "having the most English speakers" by 2017. Talk about somebody REALLY miscalculating lol.

  • @mikedimimd
    @mikedimimd 10 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    First couple of min, are dramatically skewed. does not take into account the population of the respective countries (India, China). The reason English is widely spoken is because it is the language of money/influence/advancement. sounds shitty, but its true. Makes Americans look bad in my opinion- when they talk about graduation rates, and job changes. The main reason for that is because we are as free as we are, and we are not stuck in any kind of caste system. A nobody from nowhere with no education can become a millionaire or accomplish great things for humanity. That why people literally will risk their life to get here. Just some common facts left out of this did you know? video.

    THE MUSIC: The song on this version is a custom soundtrack made specifically for this video. You only way you can download it is by going to the "shifthappens" link in the description at the top-right on this TH-cam page. Then click on "Various Versions and Source Files" on the left hand side of the page. You can find the downloadable audio file separately under "Source Files". I just downloaded it into iTunes and it works.

    Now that I am in my late forties and have been around the block enough times, I define success more broadly than is emphasized here. Being educated and making money is a much lesser part of my wholeness as a living, thriving being. What I have learned about my self and what ultimately brings me joy and peace is not taught in schools, churches or in the vast majority of homes in this culture.

  • @pound9696
    @pound9696 15 ปีที่แล้ว

    This presentation sounds like a very good cause directing attention to areas in education which can be greatly improved. Yet, the lessons that we need to learn the most are not even comprehended until we find that what was worked so hard for to achieve did not bring what we needed more than anything.

    ANSWER TO MUSIC QUESTION: It seems to be an original mix. The audio file can be downloaded from their wiki website, referenced in the comments of the video/user.
    Look under Version 2.0 and the .AIFF file can be downloaded (130 MB high quality download)
    Hope that helps everyone who's looking for the tune.

    So relevant this is great!
    Also, our education system is still based as it was in the 1800s during the industrial revolution. Back then, there were two types of people: Ones who had the mental skills to help develop new technology (back then mostly factories) and those who didn't.
    This is why there is one 'model student' we judge all students by. Hard to believe how much our world has changed and our education system HAS NOT.
    Thank you for the vid, favorited, 5/5.
