The main way to differentiate the two main parts of Cary are the MacGregor side of town and the Preston side of town. The MacGregor side has easy access to RALEIGH, most of the major medical facilities including the hospital, more native Southerners, the new downtown area, much less property crime, but the houses and shops are maybe not as new and shiny as the Preston side. The Preston side has easy access to RTP & DURHAM (but a large percentage of Preston folks who need to get to Raleigh daily have to cut through the MacGregor side), more Northern transplants, more property crime, generally shinier buildings than the MacGregor side, but smaller lots and less natural trees that have been around for a century or more. Take your pick, but as a native Southerner, the choice is obvious.
It should be a very easy commute! Of course we don’t know your exact address but if you’re close to The Fenton in SE Cary that’s about 15 minutes away . 🙂
Hi Max! Lots of thoughts at this point, but everything is speculative this early on. The state has a lot of work ahead on contractual changes. However, commission has always been negotiable nation wide and it's always been very clear in the NC contracts. The bulk of the changes revolves around the advertisement of the rates and getting the showings scheduled. I believe it will be less drastic than the media is portraying. We will see how things change once the local markets adapt!
HI! There is a nuclear power plant in the Holly Springs area. We have never had anyone be worried about it looking in Cary because it's out of sight, but it's definitely visible in parts of Holly Springs which can bother some people!
no one here (Cary) worries about it, we're not in the radius of an incident that would require immediate action...now if you ask people in fuquay or holly springs the same question...

Hi! I’m relocating to Raleigh next month. Can you share any insight on the commute from southeastern Cary to RTP?

Any Kannadigas in Cary? Please respond
How are you guys going to structure as Buyer Agents now? Are you going to charge 1, 2, 3%, a specific set amount?? Any thoughts yet? Curious.

Considering moving to Cary but I am wondering if residents in Cary don't worry about proximity of nuclear power plant.
