I'm building my own deck rn and I need to get me some of that stuff. Why have I never heard of treating cut ends. But it makes sense. The old deck was only going bad at the cuts...

So I used to apply killz on the bottom of my cedar post. Do you see an issue with that?
I do, because latex based paints encapsulate and trap moisture. Most of the wood framing we see that is painted only accelerates the rot.
