Yep, I've had a kit now & then that were abject failures. Most recent was AMT's Ford Courier truck that I could NOT get the cab front to lock down on the frame. It's consigned to the parts donor list. 😮 I've also had trouble with TAMiya paint over Duplicolor primer. Maybe the TAMiya paint is too 'hot'? I recently had trouble with Duplicolor Chrysler Inferno Red over Duplicolor white primer. Looked superb on the spoon test, but it ran off the high spots and pooled in the lower spots. I might be spraying too heavy. 🤔
My last three paint jobs, two were two toned and the other was painted flames under candy, all ruined by clear coat! I have finished one, close to finishing a second and i will build the last one! I took a breath and then a break and i came up with a plan. It's just a hobby you will get through it. I wish you the best 🎄🧑🎄😎👍
Sadly, I've been there. No matter what I tried it kept failing. Sometimes it's best to put it away for a while and pick it up another time. Keep your chin up!
One out of three paint jobs come out bad for me. No rhyme or reason for it. I've got different brands and types of paints. However, it's those good ones that keep me going, it happens and I move on. Box it up and get to the next one, you'll get past it. You could always build it as a barn find or a rusty truck that's been sitting for years.

@@LarrysModelShop that’s an interesting idea. If and when I get it back out I’ll consider those directions.
