  • 1968 Dodge Charger R/T Hemi - Everyone Was Afraid Of This Muscle Car | The Fastest Car Of Those Times
    The 1968 Dodge Charger R/T Hemi was a powerful and impressive car released in the late 1960s. This car attracted attention with its aggressive design and outstanding performance. "R/T" stood for Road/Track, emphasizing its ability to be ideal for both city roads and the track. However, its true star was the Hemi engine. The Hemi engine was known for its hemispherical combustion chamber, providing outstanding power and performance. The factory power of the 426 Hemi V8 in the Charger R/T was impressive, making this car one of the most powerful and fast of its time

      This was a problem in this car, it was getting to much traction, lifting the rear wheels solved that horrible issue it had, nobody want traction in this car it’s a liability 🙃😜🤔🤓

      @richardchase5580 Never lost to any hemi in any car, did you actually ever race one? There pretty rare back to see one from the factory let alone race one… flippin you Krap, you have a nice car but always thought a 396 was kind of a boat anchor ⚓️ just like the Mopar 440’s, that is from the factory of course. Just joking 🙃 you. I have a 68 charger and your right, there nothing to fear on the street, they look meaner then they are, long, fat, heavy and arrow dynamic as a elephant farting and running backwards at the same time lol 😝

    🏆Beautiful🏆 never had a 69 or a 68 charger but I had the 69 Super Bee and the Coronet with the 440s and 383 and 4 speeds they're 🍀awesome rides 😎✌️

    The engines you are showing are the 383 or 440 not the 426 Hemi. Super Commando was the Plymouth version. Dodge would have had 383 or 440 Magnum pie plates on the air cleaners.

      R/T stood for Rapid Transit. Work on your facts. I have had a '72 and now own a '71 Charger one year only Superbee clone.

    • @carebear2272
      @carebear2272 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      One your only clone of the superbee from the factory? That doesn’t make sense, why would they clone their own car if they were already making it? Was the two models in 71, the superbee and charger superbee, could you get a charger R/T superbee or was there just a charger R/T in 71? I’m really confused with them making a clone of there own car in that whole mix lol

    The 1968 Charger R/T is one of my absolute favorite muscle cars! 👌 Please check out my 1968 Barracuda fastback powered by a 512 stroker backedbyanA833 4 speed manual.👍 I think you'll approve.

      I know right, that’s pretty amazing, you can go so fast in this car, your rear wheels lift off the ground and grab air to get traction.
      This is this worst videos on chargers I have ever seen or herd, it’s a click bait bot.

    ….much to the delight of brand enthusiasts? What mopar guy was excited about a plastic 4 door box???

      After owning a Plymouth AAR 'cuda for most of my life, I have never owned one nor would I at this point of my life but I would say a 4 door box that is capable of 11 sec. quarter miles and 200+ mph right off the showroom floor would be a VERY impressive to be cruising around in with the family. Imagine what all the kids think when they see you dropping off little Michelle and Michael off at school and they see them climbing out of a Hellcat widebody Charger. I'd be pretty excited about that. You would be too but you most likely can't afford one. What do you drive??? A Kia I would bet...

    as a boomer myself car manufacturers wernt designing cars for the average family vehicle in the 60’s-early 70’s hence they didn’t sell alot of these muscle cars and are now considered rare! 🤷‍♂️🫤🤔👍

    • @bultacowally
      @bultacowally 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      As a boomer i HAVE to ask...What in God's name are you talking about??? Muscle cars were everywhere back then. They were cars that started life on the drawing board as family cars and had all the family car crap removed and replaced by only a big, high HP engine, kick ass trans, and a posi rear end and were quite cheap price wise because they had no frills in/on them. I remember high school parking lots with Boss Mustangs, Chevelle SS's, Camaros, Road Runners, Super Bee's, 442's, GTO's and Firebirds, some beat some almost new, spread around in them, and I grew up in a small farming community. You must have lived in Alaska growing up to say that about muscle cars....
