  • Hi. future vin from the year 2024 here. I just created a new version of this video recently that adds new consoles, fixes numerous issues, and improves the overall quality. the captures in the new video are better than in here. (New captures were on my PC. this was recorded on an android phone 😬)
anyways, enough rambling from me, hope you enjoy the new version right here!! - • [V2] Ultimate Evolutio...
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    welp
I ran out of ideas so here's some completely original filler content
I made this as accurate as possible because most startup vids I saw are inaccurate (except Swarki's)
So here's every console startup from the Bally Astrocade to the Steam Deck! I also added console addons and I even added the obscure Sega Channel!
NOTE: Some startups last a while
WARNING: Some startups may contain flashing lights that may cause seizures.
    Heavily inspired by Swarki
    Credit to everyone
Enjoy this last-minute planned video lmao

The amount of NOSTALGIA I had seeing the DSi startup is INSANE. Brings me back to the late 2000's and early 2010's when I played THE HELL out of my DSi XL as a kid. I still have it too, though not in the best condition from years of Mario Kart DS, Super Mario 64 DS, and ESPECIALLY Mario Party DS (Seriously. I played that SO MUCH when I was younger. Even beat it back then too). Ah the DS/Wii era... I'll miss you...

Some of the Bests for me:
Nintendo M82 (NTSC). The Music is Amassing, Same with the SMS (JP)
Towns FM Marty (JP). It is Stuck in my Head.
Microsoft Xbox 360 (Later Dashboards). Nostalgia for me. I Grew Up on the 360 Slim.
All Mega CD & Sega CD 1.0, Some of the Best SEGA Startups.
Nintendo Game Boy Advance, DS, And DSI. Had these 3 Handhelds, The Music was a Nice thing to hear before Playing LOZ 4S.

I saw Ironmouse reacting to this not long ago and I got a heap of nostalgia and flashbacks looking at this. Here are some of my favorites (in a chronological list):
-Nintendo Famicom Disk System (in all it's seizure-inducing glory)
    -Sega Master System (NTSC/PAL variant)
-Sega Master System (Japan variant with the Space Harrier theme)
-Nintendo Game Boy (with oh-so-iconic 8-bit sound)
-Sega Genesis/Mega-Drive (tho I much prefer just hearing the SE-GA theme, like how it appears in the games; i.e the Sonic games)
-Nintendo Super Famicombox (minus the loading part at the beginning)
-SNK NEO GEO AES (First one; I remember hearing this in one of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate trailers and seeing this now just gave me goosebumps)
-Nintendo Playstation/Sony Super Disc (even tho there's no BGM, it still feels nice to look at)
-SEGA CD (game start intro specifically with Sonic)
-Atari Jaguar (I just found it entertaining and the 3D cube of a jaguar was just funny to me)
-Nintendo Super Game Boy (looking back at this, it reminds me of the GBA intro; maybe there was some inspiration taken from it)
    -Sega Saturn (NTSC/PAL Variant)
-Sony Playstation (NTSC/PAL Variant; every time I hear that startup, it hits me like a truck)
-Nintendo Game Boy Color (even tho it's technically just the same as the Game Boy one in terms of sound)
    -Sega Dreamcast (oddly soothing)
-Nintendo 64DD (alongside the game startup)
-Nintendo GBA (the regular one; I got major nostalgia hearing that startup theme)
-Sony Playstation 2 (Main Menu variant; another major nostalgia hit)
-Sony Playstation 2 (Game Inserted variant; surprised you didn't let the startup play out, usually when a game is inserted in the PS2, there's a longer intro around 10 seconds long; there's also a sub-variant of this if you have a PS1 game inserted where it shows the PS1 logo instead of the PS2 logo)
-Sony Playstation 2 (RSOD Variant; glad to see this has never happened with me or my brother, still scary tho)
-Sony Playstation 2 (Memory Card variant; this has never happened with me so I can't comment on this, but it's still surprising to look at)
-Nintendo Gamecube (Regular variant; gotta love that startup, all you need now is some good ol' Animal Crossing or Super Mario Sunshine)
-Nintendo Gamecube (Alternate variants; never knew that you can do this, I always knew you can press the A button to enter the system menu, something that can also be done w/o a disk inserted like with the PS2, but not this)
-Microsoft Xbox (regular variant; has the same feeling and effect as the PS1 startup)
-Nintendo DS (regular variant; simple yet still iconic)
-Nintendo DS (birthday variant; I didn't even know this was a thing)
-Microsoft Xbox 360 (Pre-2010 startup; I fondly remember this one; like the DS one, it's simply yet still iconic)
-Sony Playstation 3 (Pre-Version 3.00 variant; I forgor that the PS3 had startups)
-Nintendo Wii (ACK! THE NOSTALGIA! Also plays in the Wii U's Wii Mode I think)
    -Nintendo DSi (same as DS)
    -Microsoft Xbox 360 (Post-2010 startup; now that's a startup that I remember)
-Nintendo 3DS (technically, the 3DS doesn't have a console startup screen, only a game startup. still works tho)
-Microsoft Xbox One (all variants excluding the X variant; also simple yet still iconic)
-Steam Machine (fun fact; the startup is also used whenever you enter Big Picture Mode on Steam, it just doesn't have the purple Steam logo like the SM has)
-Nintendo Switch (Regular variant; it's okay, but I still miss the days when we had actual startups for Nintendo consoles)
-Microsoft Xbox One (X Variant; wow they added a chip to their startup, how cool!)
-Microsoft Xbox Series X/S (it's alright, but it's missing that iconic Xbox sound)
-Sony Playstation 5 (Regular Variant; wait, this is just the Switch startup, but without the Sony logo and more glitter)
-Steam Deck (Default Variant; there's a lot more variants besides the one showed off...and you can only get them through the Steam Shop)

So the deal with that blue Dreamcast swirl. Legends go that there was some company in Germany whose logo was an orange swirl. It's likely (though not certain) that Sega palette-swapped the swirl to avoid a trademark dispute.
Nobody reputable has been able to find evidence or paperwork of such a dispute, so if that is the truth, it would have been proaction on Sega's part.

    • @aidan7933

Interesting! I also remember hearing that PAL Dreamcasts had the blue swirl while the NTSC and Japanese ones had the orange. Maybe the difference is because PAL Dreamcasts most likely would have been sold in Germany.

13:12 and 15:51 they spent more effort on the Startup screen than the actual addon lol. They just got high and goofed around and had fun with it. Same with this: 19:16, 20:15, 21:27,26:17
