After fly fishing for many years, I just got into tying my own flies. I've learned so much about tying flies and how to fish them from you and your channel. Thank You!
@@Oholisfliesandfishing I started tying them because I couldn't find the flies in the sizes and patterns I wanted to fish in the Eastern Sierras here in California. I also got very interested in perdigons and could only find limited selections in local shops here. Not sure, but I don't think many people use them where I usually fish. I think you become a better fisherman when you tie your own. Keep up the great work! Thank you again.
@@Oholisfliesandfishing There is nothing in fishing quite like the feeling of catching fish with flies you designed and made yourself out of whatever material you have on hand! My son found some magpie feathers and we used bits of brown carpet fibers to make a simple fly which which he caught 2 nice rainbow trout last night! He was so excited!
In my humble opinion, you ou have the best fly-tying/design/real-world fishing techniques channel on the internet...you take care to explain the why as well as the how... the context you add elevates your content above others...thanks for all you share with us.
I like those flies. I'm not too finnicky about details-they would work a treat anywhere. After all , they are for fishing. not display. But if they were for display I agree-details do matter. Your dubbing mix is brilliant-you use it a lot and I can see why. :-) :-)
Very nice !! Only add would be wire in different colors to segment the body, either way it will eat. We get way caught up on details but those fish decide in a millisecond, yep BWO and eat!!! Great pattern
Watching your videos is always a treat I look forward to. I’ve learned techniques from you which have served me well in my own fly tying. I do like this format and may take advantage of your offer to critique a fly that I tied. Thanks for posting this video Vladimir.
I really like how you ribbed this fly I don't like using wire because it messes up the shape of the fly especially small flies I am definitely going to try this thank you!!
@Oholisfliesandfishing I have tried really thin wire on really small flies it still just doesn't look right to me it messes up the tapered body I really think your technique will work better but I won't know til I try it!!
fished with a variation of this fly today on the Provo River in Utah and did quite well. more than a dozen fish in a few hours. one that was 20 inches and thick like a 2x4 board! I used a jig hook sized 16, 2.8mm silver tungsten bead, grey squirrel dubbing, a very small UV pink collar, and ribbed it with some very narrow pearle tinsil
The critique of fly adds to understanding what can be achieved with improved technique, well done as always, thanks.
Thank you. I thought it may be beneficial to viewers. Thanks again 😀🍺🍺

Exactly the reasons why one should tie... Its more expensive but more satisfying as well.
Thank you so much for your comments.
Tight lines

@@HalfInsaneOutdoorGuy i could not agree more. While spin fishing i used to make wooden lures myself. Its just another level of satisfaction 🍺

@@Tjk186 i cant thank you enough for those kind words. Thank you. I really appreciate this 🙏🙏🍺
Thanx Oholi, I tied up 6 for now and bookmarked it to my file .TIGHT LINES. I used wire in chartreuse small size .
Glad you like my flies. Keep them coming. 6is good number for tying flies. Its half of the box row. I tie the same 😀😀
I enjoyed your videos because I always learn something new. This remind me one time I used hamster dubbing for a fly... LOL
Thanks. So, how was the dubbing? Should i consider new pet? 😂😂😂

Thanks so much. I couldn't agree more... Details are for display mostly... But i do understand people who add details for their own pleasure. 😀🍺

Thanks.... I agree... Wire would make it more durable, better segments... But i needed to make same fly as what i was sent.... So i did without.
Great suggestions and video as usual. At end I would like to see split screen of your tie and the other fly.
The other fly is the photo i showed few times during the video... My tie is, well... What i tie in the video

Beautiful fly tying!! Thanks!!

Interesting fly)
Easy and small
Thanks. Cant be much easier than this 😀😀

Thanks. Glad you like it. Maybe thinnest wire may looks ok?

Fantástico 👍😊
Thanks so much 🍺🍺😀
Are you using a different color thread for the rib?
Its the same... I just made a loop beforehand and before wrapping ribs i spun it clockwise...

I think one cant go wrong with any variation of olives. 😀
👍
😀🍺
Green fly.
Cant go wrong with green 🍺
Fluorescent green for small mouth bass and tiny dark green for trout. Win Win 🎣🎣
@@randydeskins9359 green always in fashion under water 😀😀
Lol I've been using cat dubbing for as long as I can remember thought I was in the minority I guess not
I think all of us pet owners are into it.... I was tempted too many times to cut fur coats from ladies i see around. They have some nice fur 🤣🤣🤣
Very nice thanks for tyingmethodimprovmenttips
