Tarik is a giant W for standing his ground and his beliefs regardless of the fact JasonL is or was his friend. Witness of character means nothing if the allegations still stands, too much evidence of the contrary. Jason wants Tarik to ignore the experiences of these women had with Jason because Tarik is his friend but that doesnt delete their experiences with Jason. Maybe he should admit his wrongs and just do better

    1. Are you dodging women?
No. My game and pc crashes all the time.
    2. Are you dodging women?
Yes. Out of respect for my relationship.
    3. Are you dodging women?
No, I've played with women before on unrated and customs.
    4. Are you sexist or misogynistic?
No. But you chose to be a girl about it.
    5. How am I an L friend?
You are not defending my character.
    6. How am I an L friend?
I don't want you to defend me but you should've said I met Jason and he's not sexist or misogynistic.
    7. How am I an L friend?
You met me and my wife. We are not sexist in our in-person interactions so obviously we can't be sexist/miso ever.
    8. How am I an L friend?
You're neutral and that's fine. But you can't be neutral because you aren't defending me but I don't want you to defend me.

JasonL's logic makes zero sense. Just because Tariks met him and his wife in real life and Tarik can say based on his limited IRL interactions that JasonL wasn't sexist at the time when they interacted, does that definitively make JasonL not sexist? No, of course not, especially when there's so much evidence that's surfaced to point to the contrary. And to add more to that, Tarik isn't even calling him a sexist, just that he's weird for dodging girls. JasonL is truly the L friend here. Tariks a W.

everyone knows and understand what jasonr does is wrong.. Listen to what he says in this video... His point is there are people that dont know him that are saying he is this, that or some other derogatory character defaming thing. What he wanted was someone that knew him IRL to say "look i dont agree with his ingame behaviour of dodging females but i have met him with his wife and other females and i dont get the sense that he is those things you are saying he is". Its really that simple. What i dont udnerstand are u guys that are sitting here going "yep its only tarik here making a point" and completely ignoring jasons side of the argument which he made obviously clear. A friend isn't just supposed to defend you when you're getting backlash. They should be the ones to hold you accountable. Otherwise, you aren't going to understand your actions. And by Tarik not associating himself with Jason, he's trying to send a message that Jason's actions aren't okay. He even says he doesn't agree with Jason's actions, yet Jason expects him to defend him? How can one defend another's actions if they don't agree with it in the first place? The worst logic ever. And the fact Jason STILL never really addressed the dodges until NOW, shows his ignorance. Not to even mention his racist words to Wardell. That was something from left field, and he never even APOLOGIZED for it. Jason is really something else.

IKR! And the fact that he tries to paint the narrative that Tarik is "neutral" because he's not actively calling out Jason and he's not defending him either. I can see where JasonR is coming from. Have a open mind and listen to him. Hes saying that tarik has hung out with him in real life. Seen his relationship with his wife and multiple other females so he should say in public with his big audience that jasonr does not hate women which is the backlash he is getting. What Jason is saying is that the issue with him dodging females has no correlation to him hating women. What he wanted out of tarik is just what he said. A character witness from someone who knew him in real life. On the other hand i can also understand tariks point of view. He knows how strong cancel culture is and with his recent blowup he dosent want to jeopardise it with unnecessary drama that he dosent have to be involved in. At the end of the day it should have been jasonr who should have come out and fully explained his behavior isntead of relying others to come "defend" him knowing full well that would put others in the crosshairs aimed at him. Just my take

Tarik is saying "I can’t defend your actions even though I’ve hung out with you because there is undisputed proof that you have dodged queues because of girls.” (you're right here)
JasonR is saying "You know I'm not sexist, why wouldn't you go to bat for me?"
Tarik responds "Because it is weird behavior and I don't understand why you would do that, perhaps I didn't know you as well as I thought. I can't promote it on stream and am worried that I will be seen as defending your actions."
JasonR then says "The reason for my actions was my respect for my wife. I don't like how twitch chat responds when girls are in the game, and I don't like what I've seen from other creators when they play with people of the opposite sex. I don't want myself to be shipped with anyone else, or for people to make comments about me and a woman other than my wife in a romantic context."
They then go in circles because both seem more concerned about whether or not Tarik is an "L-friend" which is unintentionally very funny. I'd like to cap this off for anyone that read this far with this: I do not follow either of these people and don't care if JasonR gets drug through the mud over this. I will say that JasonR's reasoning for dodging queues seems a bit strange, and there are a few possibilities I could see where this is a reasonable thing. One being if JasonR proves somehow that he doesn't dodge queues that contain girls off-stream. The other being JasonR believes that even playing with a girl would disturb his wife in some way, which if it was the case, I imagine he'd keep to himself as I'm sure he knows, it makes his wife look like a very weird person. Without either of those being the case, I would imagine I'd side against JasonR, but maybe there's some third option that I didn't think of. Anyways, that's how I read the conversation. It's totally up to you whether or not find JasonR's reason acceptable or whether or not you'd consider him a sexist.

Jason is asking Tarik to defend him when people are saying and accusing him of being XYZ, since Tarik knows him well in person.
He is dodging the queue out of respect for his wife, not because he is sexist, misogynist, etc. THIS IS WHAT TARIK DOES NOT DEFEND.
Tarik disagrees with him dodging these games. Now... does Tarik disagree with it because he thinks Jason is being sexist (which isn't the reason why Jason is dodging),
Would Tarik change his view if he knew Jason was doing it out of respect for his wife? Or does it not matter to Tarik and he disagrees with it in general?
They are arguing about 2 different things. Jason is asking Tarik to defend his personality and to take a stand for him, Tarik thinks Jason is telling him to defend his gaming preference, in which Jason is doing it out of respect for his wife and no other reason. Tarik disagrees with it, regardless of his reason. If everyone listens carefully and not jump to conclusions, you'd understand that they're not on the same page, like Jason was saying. Tarik isn't even taking the time to listen, because Tarik's immediate reaction is Fight or Flight and to defend his image before anything without pausing to think. You guys don't f***ing listen.

With a 30 second clip around this moment would be enough to understand the whole situation: Jason is a sexist player who dodges women just because they are women ( thus the definition of sexism, no matter how he tries to spin it), and he tries to guilt trip his friend into defending his BS, but then gets mad when his friend suggest that he stops being sexist so that people stop calling him that.

I think that if Tarik had publicly said that he doesn't condone what JasonR is saying but vouched for him in the slightest saying that everything that is being thrown or said to him is not all true instead of being completely neutral, then I think JasonR wouldnt have had an issue. I also think that their definition of friends are different from the 2, with JasonR saying that if the same situation had happened to Tarik, he would have backed him up even if he doesn't necessarily condone it kinda like a "ride or die" type of friendship, whereas Tarik cares more about "not wanting to be associated with that behavior" rather than being there for him. Yes I have no life. I figured since I have nothing better to do atm I might as well break this "discussion" down and by "discussion" I mean some manchild crying for 40 minutes. If it seems like I'm biased, I probably am; Jason has had a similar scandal during his CS:GO days, the evidence is plentiful and damning both then and now.
Every word, stance, opinion, perspective, etc that came out of JasonR's mouth was actually disgusting.
    1. The way he speaks is crude. His tone is condescending. Inserting fuck/fucken/fucking in between fucken every three fucking words is fucking excessive. I don't understand how he expects anyone to take him seriously when he talks like this nor do I see how taking an aggressive stance/approach to the matter is going to get people, much less Tarik who he seems to desperately want on his side on the matter, to understand where he is coming from.
    2. Some quotes I gathered because I felt like they were relevant and some because I'm petty.
•"I feel like I'm talking to somebody who has legitimately never had a friend in real life, like on god." (16:06) The way he's able to say something like this and think that it's an okay or fair statement to make is mind-boggling? crazy? Especially after saying "you know us in real life." Yeah... some friend you are... ???
•"... you chose to be a fucking, fucking girl about it..." (20:18) ??? if you're being "painted" as a misogynist and sexist... maybe don't say things like that???
•"I, I know you haven't talked shit about me dude..." (24:06) Earlier Jason claimed that there are clips of Tarik talking shit about him yet when Tarik asks for the clips, Jason doubles down by saying Tarik has talked shit but doesn't provide such clips; exhibit A of a pro-gaslighter- say some bullshit, realize during the conversation that your accusation is wrong then casually/sneakily correct yourself.
•"Tarik, Tarik, I-wou-euh- hear me out, we get it, we get it Tarik, you keep telling your chat this, you can keep telling everyone... say it again for the whole fucking crowd." (24:53) First, don't lump us in with you Jason... shit is gross... Second, you don't get it. Third, who do you think you are to take this condescending attitude when you clearly lack common sense and spew bullshit takes??? My bad I get it, you're unimaginably, unfathomably ignorant.
•"No. Like I aha tss dude wha- it's like this shits, you're- am I like- I feel like I'm talking to a fucking robot like you're not even a fucking like yuh- ju-" (25:49) You can't be making fun of how people talk when you talk like this... at least Tarik is coherent...
•"...it's just about being a fucking friend..." (26:11) The way he uses the word friend is naive. Just because you're friends doesn't mean that the world stops spinning; actions and words still have consequences whether you acknowledge them or not. Fundamentally there is a difference between a character witness and "backing someone up" but the words that come out of a character witness' mouth will ultimately defend or defame the relevant individual.
•"... i fucking love this shit" (31:08) This might be inaccurate as his mic/words were muddled but this is along the lines of what he said. This was said in response to Tarik assuming that Jason doesn't want this kind of drama/hate or depiction of Jason's character. mmm ok. Another example of Jason not taking the situation seriously at all.
•"you apologized" (33:35) One of the most JasonR character-defining moments, absolutely disgusting. This pathetic sack of shit tries to take the stance of "you apologized so you're admitting that you're wrong." The lack of self-awareness, social skills, and empathy required is astronomical.
    3. The way he tried to pilot the situation was ridiculously manipulative. He claims it's not about sides but then whines about Tarik taking a "neutral side." He claims it's not about sides but wants Tarik to ignore the drama and be a "character witness" that says something along the lines of "Jason and his wife are great people; they are not misogynistic." But Jason refuses to acknowledge that if Tarik were to take that kind of stance, people would connect the two and assume that Tarik is taking Jason's side a.k.a condoning that behavior. By refusing to acknowledge that simple logic not only does he gaslight Tarik to the point of mental exhaustion and frustration but he uses that stance as a crutch to make the claim "Tarik is scared of ruining his numbers." The only reason he wanted Tarik to be his "character witness" is because of those numbers, not this bullshit facade of "friends." I put "friends" in quotations because according to Jason they're not friends. It's pathetic that Jason would stoop that low to bash Tarik. "Because what you're doing makes it look like you are ag-, you are 100% against me on all fronts." (24:18) Jason's logic states that "if you do not defend me nor talk shit about me, you are against me." how does this reasoning make any sense? How can he go and accuse Tarik of being an "L friend" for being "neutral" while preaching that kind of logic? Another example of Jason gaslighting Tarik starts around 31:25. A little earlier Jason tries to claim that he has many clips of himself playing with women in response to his past actions but then later tries to claim that he said that in regards to "fixing the situation." Starting from around 39:40 Jason tries to accuse Tarik of going wildly off-topic and tries to remind Tarik that the topic is "why you are an L friend." With all of your expectations Jason, did you expect Tarik to be like "yeah, no you're right 100%. I am an L friend, have a good day." Are you stupid? Of course, any person in that situation will want to give their perspective as to why they are not an "L friend" especially if it's a friend that they c a r e about is calling them an "L friend."
    4. The way he expects Tarik to defend him is actually laughable. Jason has a history regarding this exact issue yet he still decided to approach it half-assed; he didn't defend himself, made jokes out of the situation, refused to take the matter seriously, called anyone and everyone that said anything about him crazy and stupid- it's so confusing. You would think one would pause for a moment and reflect. Sure if you saw a hundred people jump off the Empire State Building you would think that's crazy but naturally, I may be completely wrong here but this is how I feel, stop and think for a moment as to why.
    5. The way he tries to avoid the whole "racist analogy" comparison is hilarious. It's so funny to me because it's a literal flip representation of Jason's situation; there is nothing wrong with the analogy; misogyny and racism are both social issues and are often brought up together. Granted they are two completely different topics but they both encompass the same issue: prejudice. Jason just doesn't feel comfortable about it because he realized at that moment, that his entire argument against his haters and against Tarik is bullshit. Something he didn't realize however is that it also shows the people that he does not take misogyny as seriously he does racism.
    6. The way he hates that Tarik is giving him advice as a friend is also hilarious. What? Jason are you too good for it? The conversation didn't go the way you wanted it to? Are you being self-conscious and afraid of how it makes you look taking advice from another man?!?! Why take that moment to start worrying about your image. It's absolutely, positively pathetic. He then doubles back when Tarik says something along the lines of "Oh so you're mad at me for giving advice as a friend" and says "no, no give advice." Make up your mind...
Maybe I'm a snowflake or a sensitive wuss or a weirdo with shit takes, maybe I'm all of them or maybe JasonR really is an insensitive, lying, manipulative, misogynistic, sexist, gaslighting, incoherent, sorry excuse of a friend. Who knows. My analysis was extremely rushed so it's messy and I probably, most definitely missed some things but who cares. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
For those of you who are curious, this took me just over an hour and ten minutes. It would've been much faster had Jason spoken like a reasonable human being. And again, before anyone says anything, even though I can already see the future so I know reiterating this is futile, remember, that I have acknowledged, that I, have, no, life. (treat each comma like a pause, it was for emphasis). Hope yall have a good rest of your day :)

put this in my background while writing an essay and I have to say, both sides didnt explain their perspectives very well, just kept repeating the same stuff over and over but heres what i got out of it for anyone wanting a summary. Beforehand i would like to say that i have never followed jasonr nor tarik, i just know them from the csgo tournaments i used to watch, everything im about to say is what i gathered from this vod and this vod only.
    Jasonr side:
Jasonr is a very emotional person. He doesnt want tarik to defend him dodging women, he doesnt want tarik to take his side on the matter per say, he just wants tarik to make a statement saying "what jasonr did was fucked up, but he isnt a sexist and he doesnt deserve death threats". He is annoyed at tarik and calling him an "L friend" because despite tarik repeatedly saying he knows it is a private matter and hinting that he doesnt believe jasonr is a sexist, he never outright says it. Jasonr probably thinks this is because tarik doesnt wanna get involved in controversy, which to a certain extent is probably true no matter how much he denies it. I know tarik keeps saying that his image isnt important, and to give him the benefit of doubt, it probably wasnt a primary factor, but it definitely did contribute. Jasonr doesnt think what tarik did was wrong, and i agree. Tarik did everything perfectly right, from an influencer's point of view. What jasonr is saying here is that tarik has failed as a friend since he only considered things from a logical perspective. from around 22:40 tarik says "i didnt put that much thought into it", and notice how jasonr says he knows and even sounds sad, because in jasonr's mind, a true friend would have thought that far. So to be fair, from an emotional person's pov, such as jasonr, tarik was indeed a "bad friend"
    Tarik's side:
Tarik is a very logical person, everything he does goes by what is right or wrong. He argues that he couldnt take Jasonr's side due to the fact that what he did was in fact wrong, which he isnt wrong in saying so. No matter how much Jasonr denies it, he dodged women and lied about it, he even admitted that in this video, it is a said fact. Tarik isnt wrong in not wanting to defend jasonr. He also believed that by not making fun of jasonr's situation, he did what he should as a friend. Tarik feels like jasonr calling him a bad friend is unreasonable since he didnt do anything that would negatively impact jasonr, which is true, he didnt. Tarik argues that he didnt even want to make any statement so as to not have any misunderstandings about his position, and he is right to do so since anything he says can be and will be taken out of context by those shitty clip channels for free views. Tarik also has to consider that he is a HUGE influencer and i mean HUGE. Even someone like me who doesnt follow him knows about his popularity, anyone in the gaming industry probably knows him, so anything he says is very influencial. He doesnt want to accidentally lead his fans, alot of whom are probably young, down the wrong path. he wants to make sure he educates his audience properly on the right thing to do, which he did very well. From a logical standpoint, tarik did everything almost perfectly, thus he doesnt believe that he is a "bad friend".
    now my take on this:
if we are talking about the jasonr controversy here, i believe tarik is in the right. He didnt accept jasonr's actions nor did he constantly meme it for views like some other streamers did. Tarik handled it very professional and logically. However, that is exactly the problem here. Tarik handled it too professionally. In the mind of a logic based person like tarik, theres nothing wrong with it. If jasonr was of the same mindset, he would totally be fine with this. However, jasonr seems to be much more emotional than tarik. He feels betrayed exactly because tarik handled this situation from a professional standpoint, not as a friend. What jasonr said wasnt wrong either, a true friend wouldve definitely tried to help abit, even if he didnt take the side. Jasonr expecting tarik, a supposed long time friend, to make a statement saying "jasonr dont deserve this" isnt expecting too much, in fact if i was in jasonrs shoes i would expect that too. The fact that even that much wasnt given probably made jasonr very disappointed. He constantly mentioned how people like trainwreck and subroza defended him, and he probably brought this up because he had known tarik longer than he had known them(this is just my guess), and he is stating that they did that yet his longer known friend couldnt. Jasonr isnt angry at tarik, jasonr isnt saying what tarik did was wrong since he knows deep down that he fucked up. The main point of this discussion is why jasonr called tarik an "L friend", and to that i believe I would lean towards jasonr. I tried to put myself into both pov's and i just feel like i get what jasonr is trying to say. I tried to imagine my close friends saying " i didnt put that much thought into this because it doesnt involve me to that degree" (22:40) and that just made me sad. I think thats just what it came down to though, a difference in perspective.
Overall, i think tarik did the right move as an influencer, but he did fail as a friend here. Friends are meant to give advice , thats right. friends are meant to keep each other in check, that is also right. However, what tarik did here wasnt any of those. He in a way cut jasonr off. Honestly, i dont know how the controversy went down, and i cldnt care to research about it, but if we are ONLY looking at the perspective of friendship here, i feel that tarik destroyed their entire friendship with this incident. He handled everything too matter of fact, offering no emotional support for a "friend" who is going through some shit. In the end, i feel like tarik and jasonr's relationship cant be called " true friendship", its more of like long term acquaintances who are comfortable around each other. Neither side are wrong here, if you look at different povs then you would feel differently.
Also on a side note, i feel like most people will take tariks side here and there is a very big reason why, its not because tarik is more popular, its because tarik led the conversation here. Jasonr kept trying to say stuff but tarik is evidently controlling the direction of the argument most of the time, which brings people to see his pov more. Jasonr made a remark that he feels like he is talking to a robot when talking to tarik, and that is probably because tarik is just repeatedly bringing him back to the same point and jasonr isnt getting through. Jasonr wants tarik to understand his emotion, but tarik keeps stiring the conversation to logic, bringing up analogys and stuff.

From watching the first 13 minutes: I feel like Jason is trying to say he doesn't dodge women in Valorant games because he is sexist, and wants Tarik to reference how Jason interacted normally(?) with Tarik's GF or other women IRL. It's frustrating because Tarik is insistent Jason is asking to support the dodging, but he is really asking Tarik to tell people Jason isn't a sexist and the dodging is unrelated to hating women. Though it's difficult to understand how it isn't sexist, I feel like it would be easier for him if he could explain why he dodges women. It's a shame because I used to support JR but I don't know if I can anymore.

When Tarik said he can just not dodge women, JasonR just goes super silent like he won’t do that even if it wouldve just helped is character from the beginning. Tarik needs to think of career here cuz if he gets dragged in it, he could lose viewers/subscribers and lose money overall. Its crazy how JasonR doesnt think that providing proof of good character irl is a form of defense. Like Tarik says, just cuz he knows and hungout with him irl, doesn’t mean they know each others character fully and this support would destroy his career as well. Lets just be real here, JasonR probably isn't sexist nor does he likely hate women. He needs to be straight up though that he was unintentionally exhibiting slightly sexist behavior and then excusing it saying it was to respect his wife and their relationship so that there would be no false talk of them supposedly being more than people playing the same game. This happened with ninja years ago and in his position, that argument made more sense since it was involving him reaching out to women and playing with them. In Jason's situation, he almost obviously dodges women because he thinks more often than not, they're not very good. Just admit that you have/had a skewed perception of girls and gaming and that you being the overly competetive player that you are wanted no disadvantage you thought you could control, you say that and then say you understand how that came off as sexist and apologize, oh and apologize for it because whether you want to win or not, and whether most or half or all girls are bad, you probably wouldn't appreciate it if it were you being dodged because "men are not good at this at all" then being memed for it. Grow up brother, you can make a mistake and then try to rectify it, don't lose your career and status over an ego, holy.

tarik does not want to queue with jason because of the premise that comes in doing so. if he queues with jason then it would seem like he supports jasons actions, which he does not. jason’s personality on stream or irl has no point in this matter. the fact of the matter is that jason has done sexist actions. doesn’t mean that he himself is sexist, but rather what he did were sexist actions and he needs to own up to that and make a formal statement. but now jason is bashing on tarik for not telling the world that jason is not sexist, as if it is tariks obligation as a friend when there is evidence of jason dodging girls on queue. tarik did the best thing imo. he said his stance, didnt diss his friend, and then banned the topic from chat so as to stop or lessen any hate on jason.

Jason and his wife are genuinely just taking an L in the scenario. It's apparent that they're insecure about their relationship and have horrible core values for each other.
And Tarik sums it up; there's no beating around the bush. Jason Dodges Qs with women because he doesn't want his wife or the community to think poorly of his relationships. However, that is not valid because why would you be dodging something against someone's sexual orientation that's sexist.
