- Hi guys! A while ago I FINALLY took the bus down from Seoul to Suwon to see the Hwaseong Fortress. I was asked by @travelgram_korea (the Korean Tourism Organization) to introduce the city on their Instagram Stories so apologies if I sound a little tour-guidey here lol! But really, this was such a nice day trip and if you couldn't tell, I thought the part of the city I explored was GORGEOUS. If you have a free day and are looking for a day trip, I highly suggest Suwon (but the palace was a lil freaky haha)

Those dolls make me think of Weeping Angels. You turn your back and bam! Yes, yes, I'm a Whovian. But still it looked really pretty. The sky looked so clean as well.

Woah! Congrats on breaking 100k subs! That's so cool! We've been watching since 22k (but who's counting haha) 😄😄 Back to the video - this vlog was gorgeous. We never made it down to Suwon while we were living in Korea, so it was great to explore it through your eyes. Maybe we'll catch a bus down there next time we're in Korea!

You should defo check it at night!! It’s far more gorgeous than in the afternoon/morning. Climbing on top of Jangan mun and watching the magnificent views of suwon while drinking a tin can of beer is impossible to explain. I was born and bred in suwon for 24yrs you can trust me hahaha
Also there are a number of traditional market which are famous for pork innards/soondae it’s one of the must eat!!
So glad that the weather it great because stuffy air sucks.
Watching so many vlogs makes me want to start one (been thinking for like 1 year) but I never know how to or delete everything... I’m just glad people actually do it and I can watch them. I hope everyone has an easier time making decisions and everyone have a great day! ❤️

The korean tourism organization is so lucky they found you! Last year i took my first trip to South Korea and visited some of the cities you recommended (Jeonju, Ilsan, Incheon) and became obsessed! I visted the country once again this year, went to some cities outside of Seoul and I am now planning a longer vacation there during winter time. If it wasn't for you I'd probably just spend the entire time in Seoul. Thank you so much Cari, you really show Korea in a beautiful way. I told my mom about my vacation and showed her some photos and she was just like "alright, okay" but I showed her one of your vidoes once and she went "wow, that's really Korea?" haha, I'm trying to get her to come with me next time! Once again, thank you so much for making these vlogs cari. They present the country in an amazing way (even if it's not Korea - you REALLY made me want to visit New York and I've never even had any plans to go to the US), and they're so easy and relaxing to watch! Can't wait for all the future content

Gosh, Suwon just seems soooo pretty... Like that garage door at 4:18, the two color street lines, the sidewalks, that cute little bike at 6:51, the warm brown tones in the buildings, and all the greeeeeen~

One thing I admired when I visited Korea is how much they baby the very old trees at the fortresses and temples - supports, slings, wrapping, and the second zelcova in this video appeared to have staple/bandaid type things? Amazing.
i really love that too hahah the 600 year old one was totally hollow, those little bandaids were all that were keeping it together :')

I visited the fortress back in December. I didn’t go to the palace but walked the whole wall. I think it took me just over 3 hours at a leisurely pace. Loved it. And loved your video. :-)

I'm super excited to see you cruising happily in Suwon, because Suwon Fortresses is one of my favorite areas. You make me imagine myself strolling along the walls appreciating the beautiful clouds in the sky. You're such a genuine artist giving me a pleasant inspiration.
p.s I recommend you visit there at night so that you enjoy the scenic view and pleasant wind sitting down on the wooden floor of one of the lookouts. You'll find it cool even in the middle of the summer.

When I visited Seoul last Spring, I made it a point to visit the 한국민속촌 in Suwon because you vlogged it too. And I did not regret adding it into my itinerary. If I come back to Seoul, I'll check out Hwaseong Fortress for sure ;-) Thanks Cari!

Suwon really is amazing, especially the fortress. And at least couple years ago they had archery field in the historical premises where you could actually practice archery (I think they have the same kind of thing in Gongju). Omg this video is so nostalgic. I spent last summer in Suwon cuz my 시댁 is there. I used to not like Suwon cuz of that reason and i didnt go there past few years too much but spending there more than one month i started to really like Suwon. Maybe even more than Seoul now :D im glad that youve liked it as well! Suwon has many nice places and cafes.. near Ajou university there are too many nice and cozy cafes and esp they are like half price compared to the cafes in Seoul:)

The summer clouds make me almost forgive the heat lmaoo. For some reason for me I consider Suwon part of Seoul..which I probably shouldn't but I'm like nyahhh it's accessible by the Seoul subway nyahhh so it's Seoul-like-in-nature. It looks so beautiful! Congratulations on the Korean Tourism stuff T_T that's so wonderful. I always tell Kelsey about all the stuff you're doing and she always says 'one day I hope to be on the same hustle status as Cari' bc you always are doing so much in every angle doing such a wonderful job friend

This was beautiful. You make Korean cafés look so calm, pretty and relaxing, that I just thought to myself that if I ever felt like I needed a change of pace, I'll go to Korea and work in one of those cafés.
