Thanks Jason for explaining everything so clearly and slowly with lots of examples. At 9:00 min I was thinking of the 2 5 of C when you made it clear that you are referring to the 2 5 of F. These type of clarifications are essential for those of us new to these eye opening concepts. Thank you so much for these 3 Halleluja tutorials!
Happy to hear that! You can also watch another Reharmonization video by Elisha Zimbeva: th-cam.com/video/swVg7D6zYMI/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=JasonZac-NathanielSchoolofMusic
This is the best guide on the USEFUL application of the circle of fifths that I've found yet as someone with a fair bit of piano experience but just starting to focus on improvisation. And it's caused me to retroactively discover the 'ii V7 I' transition in many songs that I'd learned in the past. Thank you!!
Jason, you are the master of piano riffs. Thanks for performing them slower the 2nd time in the video, so we can try to learn to play them, too. Recently I think I have developed tennis elbow in my left arm because my left hand is using more fingers and playing more chords. Has this ever happened to you or your students?
I love you so much already man! Will make a small donation soon... wish I could do more... you sure deserve it. One question tho: HOW COME YOU SING IN PERFECT ENGLISH? hahahaha its funny. You're absolutely legend! Thanks so much for everything man!
I think that the secret chord was an Abdim... I think a dim7 would melody clash... Talking of Norah Jones, please, please, please: do a tutorial of her version of Bessie Smith? I think her live version was with her playing on a Rhodes iirc, and I simply love the sound. Aside from that, her smoky voice is so mmmh...
