I've been binging Resolve videos for weeks and this is the first workflow that has made sense to the ADHD part of my brain. Thank you for creating this!
@@gsmixed bro how do you get all of the clips to align at once? When I select all I can't even use the auto align clips feature. Can only sync the song to one track at a time. So frustrating if you have like 20 takes to sync.
I really like your workflow. I'm definitely going to incorporate a lot of it into mine. The disabling instead of deleting is honestly very helpful and a lot faster. Your videos are very helpful and are really speeding up my learning and getting better process. I appreciate the time you take to make these videos to help other editors.
This video was FULL of jewels, SO HELPFUL. Thank you for saving me loads of time and headache. Ive been editing several music videos trying to learn Davinci Resolve thinking there has to be a better way of doing this and I now have a better way thanks to you!!!
@2:46 I was able to put all my clips on the timeline one on top of another really quickly by selecting all of my clips, right click, and selecting "create new multicam clip using selected clips". Then I just went to the edit window, right clicked the multicam clip it created, and selected "create new timeline using selected clips". I'm pretty new to this, so I'm not sure if this really functions for the purposes we need... but it might be worth a shot for a quicker workflow!
You will use a 24fps timeline. The clips to that are 120 you can slow to 24 fps using clip attributes. While the clip is still in the media pool right click then select clip attributes. Select FPS and change it to 24. This will create proper slow-mo for that particular clip. You can then added to your timeline.
@@samuelteshome6771 I wouldn't worry about sync audio to the c 120 FPS clips if you plan to use for slow motion. The ones you don't plan to use for slow motion you can synchronize a them.
@@WalterDeRooij Thanks for the feedback. Currently trying to get my workflow into 1 editor. I currently do al my coloring in Davinci and use the multicam in FCPX to edit
I follow this step by step, but after I drag in all of my clips and highlight them all and do the sync to waveform none of my clips move and it says none of them can be synced? The song is playing in all of my clips and I added the song as one of my audio tracks, but its not working for some reason. Any idea why this could be happening? Manually syncing takes a lot of extra time.
How many times have you tried it. I know for myself every now and then the clips won't sync up. I think it sometimes glitches. It also helps if you highlight all your clips and synchronize audio while they're still in the media pool it will then attach the master audio to your clips. Then when you're align them on the timeline it usually works out better.
@@gsmixed This is only the second music video I have worked on and it didn’t work both times. I did do the align to waveform in the media pool as well before doing it to again in the timeline. I ended up using a program called PluralEyes by Red Giant and was able to get most of them synced outside of Resolve and import back to the timeline, but just wish it worked inside Resolve itself. Hopefully I’ll figure it out in the future.
I think it has something to do with audio levels too. The first time I synced up audio for my camera and audio from my screen caption it didn't pick up. My camera audio was at a normal level I had to go back and we record with the microphone levels down and then it picked up in synchronized.
Yo bro I really hope you answer after the newest update in devinci auto sync audio is not there can you help did they put it somewhere else or something?
Oh I only linked the names of the subscribers that sent me videos. I didn't link the videos themselves. Sorry for the confusion I should have worded b that better

How would you create the timeline if you have clips shot at 24fps and 120fps (using these for slo mo)

is multicam effective in davinci for music video editing?
There is a multicam function in DaVinci Resolve I have not messed with it much. I can look into it more if you need.
The davinci training video for multicam actually covers this in the second part of the vid. Definitely handy. I recommend you check that vid out.
