The disc that snuck into my bag as I hit 50 and continue to lose distance is the Glide. Big anhyzers, hyzer flips that even turnover slightly. Max weight...it is a really cool specialty disc. Nearly as fast as a fairway driver.
Story time! 15 years ago I found a 1991 Aviar chains putter. Had a name and number in it but the number was disconnected. Cut to 10 years later I’m at my wife’s bosses house for a Christmas party and after talking to the pharmacist she worked for about disc golf, we figure out that it was his putter. His name inside it. Still my daily putt piece.
The Glide is the most underrated. I see people with Heat and Meteor all the time. I am the only person I know using a Glide. Once learned the Glide can do some of the craziest turns and often still fade back out of them. It also lives up to its name and if given some hyzer and decent air time it will "glide" far (over 300ft). It is definitely more for a finesse player though. It throws like a putter but is easier to shape tricky S curves through the woods. If you cannot gear your power level down all it will do is flip over for you. I also bag a Crank SS, it is my favorite driver for a tailwind.
Wasp - I used to throw Roc/Comet combo. The Z wasp throws like premium plastic rocs. Now I throw Comet/Wasp. Stalker - no need for a buzz with the mids I use. So a stalker is a nice tweener disc in place of a buzz. Meteor - VS the comet Patrick said exactly why the Comet sticks around. The comet is a great diagnostic disc for cleaning up ones form. A meteor can be, but not in the same way for some reason.
@@UndergroundInterviews loved the heat back when it came out. When I got a faster arm speed I moved away from it but now I'm loving some less stable molds with good glide for wooded courses. The evolution of talent and bags is my favorite part of our sport!
The most underrated, I agree for mids it is the Wasp, but for molds I think the Cyclone is the most amazing mold, in ESP AMAZING. It now seems like a tweener between MIDS and Fairways.
Zombee 💀🐝🥏. I love Stalkers but have always had a hard time hyzer-flipping them. Zombee can be thrown hard on BH & is great for finesse FH's in the woods.
I found an Innova blizzard ape. No name or number, group ahead of me left 3 discs on a hole a couple holes back so I picked it up and assumed it was theirs but they said it wasn’t. Blizzard is one of Innovas light plastic, and ape is an overstable Long distance driver. I can crush that disc, it’s actually not that overstable because it’s so light (137g) and I can get some good power behind it. I can actually turn it over or get some distance hyzer flips. But when there’s wind it gets carried too much and becomes unreliable, I don’t use it much in rounds but it’s a fun disc to crush practice throws when wind is calm.
I have managed to fit both mantis and underrtaker in my bag. Because i am a slower arm speed player so i use mantis for long straight shots and underrtaker for either maximum distance or for a slighlty more overstable flight
You showed a z xs in your opening and got my hopes up that disc has always been one of my favorite work horses. Hard to find now but a sweet option if you stumble across one!
The z xs was the first disc I ever purchased. I ended up losing it in a pond, so I bought another one. I ended up getting the other one back after my local course had a diver come out and fish discs out of the pond. I still have the second one in my bag to this day!
You guys are spot on with the 5 underrated discs 😊 me for still new to Discraft I’ve tried all of them 5 discs. I do carry a stalker for straight tail winds or when they are no winds. They have close to 400-430 so I am surprised with the stalker. I also have a meteor that’s been going in and out of my bag. So straight. Hyper flips are the best for it. Than I have a regular Heat for strictly rollers. Past few months when I see new people starting out with disc golf I always recommend them to get a HEAT 😊
Awesome list. I love the Heat. I lost one in the woods this year that was just perfect for low speed flip up straight shots and searched for hours trying to find it. I also like the Avenger SS. I have 2 career aces, both with Avenger SS (one glow Z and one ESP FLX)
I would have put Avenger SS on this list. One of the best first drivers for beginners who moves up from putters and midranges to faster discs. Or maybe there are more Avenger SS players than I think and it is appreciated and value and not underrated. Very good from hyzer to flat and and straight disc for people whose maximum distance with high-speed drivers is around 300 ft. Also a good roller disc. If you look at the disc selection of most players of all level, it seems Discraft has been underrated manufacturer. I have a strange feeling that it is about to change.
Avenger SS is a great disc! I actually liked it more for Backhand rollers than my heat but eventually beat a heat in so much it became my GO TO roller Disc!!! I think if I lost it the first place I would look would be an Avenger SS again!
Wish the hornet woulda made the cut. It's so underrated people don't even know it exist. My first hornet was bought from some guys selling discs at my local course. After I got it I turned around to the practice basket about 60 feet away and smashed it dead center. Never left my bag since.
Heat acts like a -4 turn for me, and I'm not a power thrower. I use it for rollers and turnovers that won't fade back. It's a good utility disc, but not something I take out every round.
Found an old beat up Latitude 64 Saint with no name and number. Great for me, a relative newbie, for getting some distance. Problem is, I have never been able to replicate that beat-in-ness on a new Saint.
As much as I love the Meteor, I would say that the Crank SS is even more so underrated. Both are great discs. Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.
I cant make a meteor go anywhere but straight :D Which is a good thing! I release it flat with good power and it just glides straight! I release it with hyzer it flips up, and goes straight! I release it with a bit more touch with anny and, it goes straight... I can use different power or misrelease.. goes straight :D Magic Disc.
The Stalker is more touchy than the undertaker. Control trade off. I tried the undertaker, but keep my trusty stalkers in my bag. Also have a Page Pierce hand signed Stalker from when it was her signature disc.
@@UndergroundInterviews Oh ye :D It beats in pretty fast from a bit too overstable to just right! Perfect fpr harder rips off the tee or longer upshots that needs to stay straight or slightly hyzer-ish. I find the Z-FLX Ringer GT is ALOT more overstable and that one stays overstable for a long time, so perfect compliment to the X. The Z-FLX has even replaced most of my Zone shots!
I love my Undertaker... The Mantis has never worked for me... Seems like every one I've tried has been overstable... Never had one that would turn right(rhbh)...
Ive got 3 in the bag. I carry 3-4 Discraft molds in my bag. Nukes, Undertakers, Stalkers, and Impacts. Havent found a good mid range from Discraft. After wathching this vid, Im looking into the Wasp. How does it compare to a Innova Roc?
Couldn't agree more about the Mantis - such an awesome, versatile driver. Can't imagine not having one in my bag.
The disc that snuck into my bag as I hit 50 and continue to lose distance is the Glide. Big anhyzers, hyzer flips that even turnover slightly. Max weight...it is a really cool specialty disc. Nearly as fast as a fairway driver.

Zaekyr 0 I have a glide as well
I’ve bagged a Heat since they came out!
I throw a mixed bag but it will always have a Heat!
Now I need to try a Crank SS!
Wasp - I used to throw Roc/Comet combo. The Z wasp throws like premium plastic rocs. Now I throw Comet/Wasp.
Stalker - no need for a buzz with the mids I use. So a stalker is a nice tweener disc in place of a buzz.

Great content fellas! You really got me wanting to go buy some plastic that I haven't thrown in a while.
Thanks David, Get you some Heat!!!

Great vid. Solid list. Thanks for the insight fellas
It's crazy the Heat is going on 5 yrs old in 2019! Ti Heats are AMAZING!
I found a JLS a few years ago with no name, no number. My longest straight flyer in my bag. Straight, straight, straight.

Got my first Discraft Impact out of my buddy's back yard. Love that disc.

Certainly an unsung hero of the older runs!
I’d like them to put that on my gravestone lol

Way late but a few months ago i found a 2017 tour series Nate Sexton firebird in a lake, turned me onto throwing more overstable stuff, i love it now
How bad is it beat up? Could sell it for a bunch
Meteor, Buzzz, Drone was the classic mid lineup.
Now though, I prefer the hive: SS, Buzzz, and OS.
Wish the hornet woulda made the cut. It's so underrated people don't even know it exist. My first hornet was bought from some guys selling discs at my local course. After I got it I turned around to the practice basket about 60 feet away and smashed it dead center. Never left my bag since.
The Discraft Storm!!!!! Is the best Mid range ever made by Discraft!!!
Heat acts like a -4 turn for me, and I'm not a power thrower. I use it for rollers and turnovers that won't fade back. It's a good utility disc, but not something I take out every round.

Meteor for sure.
Found its way to the #2 slot!
No, comet! Lol
I bag all of these. The mantis goes in and out. But the stalker, wasp, and heat are some of my go to discs.
As much as I love the Meteor, I would say that the Crank SS is even more so underrated. Both are great discs.
Thanks for the video. Keep up the good work.
I found an unmarked, new JOMEZ PRO aviar one time.
I found a brand new Luna with no name. Ever since it’s my all-time favorite.
what ya all think of the stratus?
If you think the buzzz is better than the meteor I’d recommend getting a couple different plastics
Loving the content. Let's keep it going...
Glad you are liking it. We have some to notch interviews coming soon!
Meteor is my go to turnover disc as I've only been playing for a year and am backhand dominate. I bag 2 in esp varying stability and weight
I found an ace race heat and love it
Stalker
Good job Guys. Thanks!
Imo,
1. Stalker
2. Ringer/GT
3. Flick
4. Impact
5. Wasp
I carry all.of thoes but the impact... LOVE THEM
Love it! Good Work!
Has anyone else found the Heat fly’s way similar to the AvengerSS?
Avenger SS is better in my opinion. Especially for forehand shots.
I just found a discraft avenger esp paul mcbeth signature edition. And it's in great shape no dings or scratches. No name or number.
found my farthest flying disc in a lake, the Innova Archon
Same lol
Great job guys!!
Thanks Derek!

Heats and Meteors glide for days. Big medicine for my weenie arm!!!
I use to really like the hornet. Havnt seen it in a long time. oop
You guys are great. Discraft Underground is a cool concept.
Thanks Richard! Hopefully the Underground Team is a great starting point for people wanting to get on Team Discraft!
How about zone?
The Stalker is more touchy than the undertaker. Control trade off. I tried the undertaker, but keep my trusty stalkers in my bag. Also have a Page Pierce hand signed Stalker from when it was her signature disc.
Found a black 4x zone with no ink during a tournament. Nobody ever said anything.
=O
I love my heat, I lost my Z heat but replaced it with a ESP heat.
Im glad it was easy for you to replace!
"beep .... beep ...... wowoowowoooooo" LOLLLL
HAHAHAHA
Can't believe the Meteor is underated..
No one under the age of 20 has even thrown Discraft unless it's for ultimate. That will change this year.
Yep, your right lol
My top 5 most underrated :D 1: Z Breeze, 2: Z Putt'r 3: Z Meteor 4: Z Flick 5: X Ringer-GT
Love my x Ringer GT
@@UndergroundInterviews Oh ye :D It beats in pretty fast from a bit too overstable to just right! Pulse, best sidearm disc in the game!
I love my Undertaker... The Mantis has never worked for me... Seems like every one I've tried has been overstable... Never had one that would turn right(rhbh)...
Still have that XS? Wanna sell it?
Lmao! A swifer?! Was it a wetjet? Or will a regular dry swifer help me find discs?
The buzzz is a beadless wasp.
X-Clone. All day.
Pretty sure that was a fart around the 9:35 mark
thx stratus flies rpretty neat
The heat is a great disc but it's not at all unique. It's almost an exact copy of innovas sidewinder.
Impact!!!
Ahhh yes the impact! Never thrown one but some old school players seem to love it!
Comet
AHHHHHH COMET!
no name or number on it 2nd run original buzzz tooled wasp
