For those who know me in Discord, I have an obsession/love for Cambodia, perhaps a "Khmerphile" if you can say. Anyway, there are some of the lyrics I didn't properly understand which you might know which, but I apologize it's the best I could do. If anyone knows Khmer and make a better translation, post it in the comment section and I'll pin it
This song was probably made before 1970, which is the date the Khmer Republic was founded, but I digress, ignore that it is a Khmer Republic flag and imagine it's the Kingdom flag. I didn't bother checking the date
This song was sung in duet by Meas Samon & So Savoeun. Anyone who is knowledgeable of Cambodian music would recognize those two but if you don't I'll explain:
Meas Samon - He was a comedian and singer (and also adopted a Charlie Chaplin-isc appearance). He sometimes snuck social commentary within his music which is one of the only Cambodian singers, aside from another singer, to ever do so. He was killed by the Khmer Rouge after disobeying them acouple times
So Savoeun- She was a member of the first Cambodian rock band called "Baksey Cham Krong". She managed to escape Cambodia from the Khmer Rouge, to France, and is still alive and lives there to this day
