Nice demo, man! EAE most definitely is one of my favourite pedal builders out there. I own a Wicked Jawn and the Model feT in that thing is crazy good!
It maintains a really rich sound in all modes which makes it very appealing to me. Thanks for another great review and demo. Always learning from and being inspired by Hondo 😎
Haha! I just stumbled onto this review while looking for a bass demo of the Halberd. I just got my Model feT a few days ago and I couldn’t agree more with everything you say about it. It has a huge vintage sound, like it’s full of tubes, and sounds great no matter how you set it. I wanted to hear it stacked with other pedals and I just grabbed my MBD2 first but heard your demo before I could hook it up, lol.
Nice demo man - loved the MVP4 into ModelFET into DI tone. Simple chain but sounded great. I can see this pedal working on a pedalboard as the always on kind of overdrive but also with the ability for some tone sculpting. Does vintage warm sounds very well by the sounds of things.
Awesome demo! Great sounding pedal. I’m currently fighting the urge to build an analog rig with something like this and a Khan VTDI. I know my helix gets me 99% of the way there. But it’s been like 3 days since I bought any gear, so you know…
Oh i know…lol. That would be a killer rig. I enjoy modelers (used fractal, kemper, helix, quad cortex etc.) but i swear they haven’t really nailed distortions yet. Especially fuzzes. I’d run the Fet with the Khan AND the helix lmao.
Yeah I think you’re right. The helix was supposed to be my “take one thing to the gig” setup. But I’m probably not doing it right if I don’t run some stuff in front of, after, and in all the fx loops of the helix.
Thanks! You would still need to use a power amp at a minimum. This pedal doesn't generate any wattage to move the speaker. If i could throw and unsolicited opinion your way: I'd run this in front of a clean solid state head like a trickfish, aguilar, darkglass (with OD off) etc. or into the fx loop of something more colorful like a tube head. That way you'll still get the tones you want, but also have power to make some noise.
Non-latching switches ✅ playing with a pick ☑️ Animated annotations.... man, I have some work to do.

Great demo as always, man! The Model feT's amazing, it's one of my go-to's on bass

This. Pedal. Goes.
Very nice sounds, I want to try it!
I think you'd dig it!
This pedal is amazing
Great video! So you could plug this pedal directly into a cabinet speaker or do you need something in between them to make that work?
