It looked as though you didn't want to leave the next morning and I don't blame you. I'd totally agree about giving kids in school the chance to experience camping. Each camp stays with you for a long while after and keeps you ticking over until the next venture out. The bird song nesr the end was class and stunning shots, usual craic Gerry. Fair play for picking up the litter off the beach too 👍🍀
Cheers Jason👍 It was a superb stretch of coast and a great wild camp spot and I could easily have just chilled there all day and stayed another night😊 Definitely keeps me ticking over👍 Love that birdsong out on the hill at this time of year😊
Stunning scenery and fantastic editing as always. Many years since I did part of this walk from the Church. Great idea for schools to consider taking children camping, especially in today's world of being distracted and/or obsessed with technology!! Inspirational to promote giving a little back by litter picking!
Cheers Siobhan👍 There is some super walking from the old church in either direction, as short or as long as you want. Getting outdoors and spending the night could be transformational for at least some young people I think, becoming more connected with what is naturally around us👍 It is always good to give back a little and help remove some of the stuff that shouldn't be there👍
Wow, what a wonderful trip! The views along the coast are amazing- I think it’s a great idea to get youth out exploring and backpacking if possible, and as young as possible! It really fills the soul to see and experience the rugged coastline and the steady sea breeze! I’m sure you enjoyed being midge- free, lol. Great to see the most northerly hill in Ireland! 🌟🌟👌
Cheers Jennifer👍 It is a cool stretch of coast and I had it all to myself, including no midges😊 We should all have the opportunity to spend time in the outdoors to slow down and be more present👍
A lovely stretch of coastline Gerry - that certainly would have satisfied the coastal walk and camp desires 😉 Tagging in the most northerly hill in Ireland was a great addition too! I assume you had all the gear ready to go in your car for litter picking - fab to have it to hand! It looked a gorgeous spot to spend some time and watch the magic unfold 😊
Miriam, it is always in the car. Some of the mountain roads here in the north are pretty poor with litter having accumulated over the years and if I can will have a go at removing some of it. Crockalough is a cool wee hill as is that stretch of coast and I think a coastal camp is hard to beat (even compared to a summit camp) 😊
Another good one Gerry. The sea is not my thing but the views were just amazing. I think those seagulls were more interested in your dinner. Great walk along the cliffs and great to see Irelands most northerly hill too. Nice connection. Thanks for sharing
Hi Gerry. Lovely camp spot. It must have been hard to get get ready for bed with all those distractions ! The sound of the sea,the views, the stars, and the fact that it doesn't seem to get dark. Lovely video, really enjoyed your experience. 😊
Andrew, there was light and colour in the sky to near midnight to the north and a half moon helped to give visibility without the need for a headtorch. It was a really cool trip and wild camp and maybe all that going on did have an impact on my ability to settle and get to sleep💤 Thank you for watching👍
Cheers Aidan👍 I love walking along the coast with the ever present sounds of water and birdlife and the wildflowers that are all too lacking in the mountains here.
Dam blast - Wee House of Malin looks like interesting coastline to photograph. And I was there only 2 months ago. And never seen it on the map ... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr - We stayed out late at Malin Head for the Northern Lights ... Not a sausage! But great crack with the wee lad, cooker on rasher and sausage sambos and hot chocolate
Another great video I really enjoyed this, you got so many different lovely shots nothing more relaxing than chilling and sleeping near the sea with the sound of waves. I look forward to seeing where your next Adventure will be, thanks for sharing 🙌
Hahahah yes seems you are familiar with Donegal ;-) cracking location. Must visit you for a wee wild camp up there one day🧡 Thank you for your dedication of the litter picking. Yes you do good you get good absolutely agree. See you on the trail 😊
Cheers👍 It is a great spot that I have walked a couple of times previously though it was an absolute delight to spend the night😊 Always good to give something back alright and I definitely believe that what we put out is what comes back to us😊
I hope you had your sun cream on Gerry! stick those trousers on E Bay! Orchids! Excellent! Kittiwake birds on the cliff! No fellow people about either. If it's nippy up there at this time of year what is it like in winter!!!? Wonderul Gerry! Take care! Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills.
Tom, the trousers are probably still sitting there so might go back for them and put on eBay Always lovely walking along the coast, whether it be Whitehead or Donegal👍
Nice one Gerry. Aye your right, more of a variety of plant life on the coast eh. Nice stretch of coastline with the sheer drops. Looks similar to our neck of the woods at the Berwickshire coast. Cracking bivvy spot. 👌
Class trip Gerry, though at one stage I think you could have done with a machete! Looked like a peaceful couple of days to yourself and that view from your bed! I totally get you about getting the young folks outside and into the wilderness. I see the benefits of it taking DofE, although it can be physically challenging it gets them outside engaging their minds and making memories for life. Really commendable what you do for the countryside too Gerry, inspiring in fact. All the best.
Cheers Gary👍 You know the power of the outdoors for engaging with young people and personal development👍 I'm not made for this crawling lark at my age😊 Litter picking is pretty cool (though littering is not) combining exercise (those bags can get heavy😊), the outdoors and making a difference.
Cheers Yvonne👍 sunset was around 10pm though there was a glorious residual light and colour out to the sea for a hour or more after. Same in the morning as there was a red glow and light to the sky from before 4am☀️😊
Cheers👍 Haven't been to Horn Head in a long time though from what I recall there is definitely opportunities to wild camp along the cliffs past the old ruins. Would love to do the walk from Tramore Strand up to Horn Head though still think there are access issues.
Great time .Over from Coventry at Glengad Malin last week. Was gonna camp at Carrickganna below old war lookout tower at Manna. But had to fix the porch roof instead. Thats the problem with being handy.
Very relaxing to watch Gerry, as you mentioned, Getting kid, teenagers out into these places world do wonders for them. Mind you a few might be happy with the Fishermans overalls, might look trendy in a nightclub.
Ed I usually just boil for 5 minutes and have never had any bother. I would be more cautious with water near to population centres given the state of the waterways with sewage discharges, certainly in the UK. The trousers were tempting though not quite my colour😊
Thomas, if the weather and the midges permit I would have the bivy over the tent. A lot simpler and more versatile and opens up more opportunities to camp in places where tents just wouldn't work. the tent is cool though when it is wet or there is no breeze to stop the midges flying👍
*_Hello sir... you always look healthy and successful... keep on adventuring... you are great sir... this is what makes me I like and proud of you sir. Keep on adventuring because.... God is with the True Adventurer. greetings from Indonesia_* 👣⛰🏕💯👍

Absolutely stunning seascapes!! Just got to get to the area one day! Excellent! Bruce and Otis
Cheers Bruce and Otis😊 It is a lovely part of Ireland and an absolute pleasure to walk and explore😊 You would so enjoy it👍

Thank you Gerry, another Donegal adventure. Your walks are very special.
Thank you Richard👍 Donegal adventures are some of finest😊

Alyn, the coast, cliffs, hills and Atlantic sunsets are a heady mixture😊
Lovely video Gerry, thanks for sharing. I live not far from where you were, so appreciate the stunning coast and these class bright nights
Dominic that is one cool place to live👍 I have no doubt that beautiful sunsets abound☀️😊

Another great video Gerry, the costal view are a pleasant change, lots of different seascapes, fauna and wildlife. A lovely part of the world.
Cheers Aidan👍 I love walking along the coast with the ever present sounds of water and birdlife and the wildflowers that are all too lacking in the mountains here.

There is some lovely coast all around Malin. That bit from the Wee House is pretty cool and very quiet and well worth another trip👍
Another lovely video Gerry. Nice one.
Cheers Kenny👍 It is a beautiful part of Ireland and a lovely isolated stretch of coast where I didn't meet a soul😊
Thanks for that Gerry - I really do love Inishowen. What a campsite there with the stack and the sunset for company. Oh, and great limbo skills!
Cheers👍 My limbo skills could do with some more regular practice😊 I love Inishowen too and that wee walk is a particular favourite😊
Another great video I really enjoyed this, you got so many different lovely shots nothing more relaxing than chilling and sleeping near the sea with the sound of waves. I look forward to seeing where your next Adventure will be, thanks for sharing 🙌
Cheers Adrian👍 the waves nearly trump the mountain tops😊
Nice camp, beautiful ocean view. Thank you for sharing 👍
Cheers👍 It is only missing some snow capped peaks in the distance😊
Hahahah yes seems you are familiar with Donegal ;-) cracking location. Must visit you for a wee wild camp up there one day🧡 Thank you for your dedication of the litter picking. Yes you do good you get good absolutely agree. See you on the trail 😊

Unreal mate.looked like brilliant night
Cheers James👍 It was a cool wee coastal walk and a great wild camp😊
Nice one Gerry, Thanks.
Cheers Mick👍😊
Me and Bertie loved watching this g ❤️
Cheers😊

Kev, hard to beat a good coastal walk and camp😊

Looked up the sunset times for mid-June and it says 10:10 PM! Thanks for taking us along, and who needs sleep in a place like that? :-)
Cheers Yvonne👍 sunset was around 10pm though there was a glorious residual light and colour out to the sea for a hour or more after. Same in the morning as there was a red glow and light to the sky from before 4am☀️😊
Nice one Gerry 💪😎
Cheers Konrad👍 It was a cool wee trip😊
Another gem Gerry. Have you camped on the Horn Head peninsula close to Dunfanaghy? I think that will be my next coastal camp
Bernard, Glengad is on my list of places to explore👍 Being handy is a cool skill and porch roofs are important😊
Very relaxing to watch Gerry, as you mentioned, Getting kid, teenagers out into these places world do wonders for them. Mind you a few might be happy with the Fishermans overalls, might look trendy in a nightclub.
Cheers Peter👍 I was torn about the Fishermans overalls😊 It was a very peaceful and relaxed trip😊
Lethal, Malin is class.
Did you see the recent vandalism in Murlough and Donard? 🙄
Cheers👍 Some great mountain and coastal walking on Inishowen alright. Haven't heard of any vandalism in the Mournes.
It is sad that some people don't get the beauty of these places (for whatever reason) and feel it is ok to cause damage or litter.
Great video, I was up there a couple of months ago. You have a new subscriber! 🙂
Cheers, it is a lovely spot and a lot quieter than nearby Malin Head itself😊 You have a new subscriber too👍
Great video Gerry, what an amazing atmosphere to sleep. By the way was that a steering wheel just before 7 mins?
Cheers Patrick👍 It was indeed a steering wheel of tractor or lorry variety🚜
Great video. When you take local water, do you filter as well as boil or just boil? Did the fisherman’s trousers fit?
Ed I usually just boil for 5 minutes and have never had any bother. I would be more cautious with water near to population centres given the state of the waterways with sewage discharges, certainly in the UK. The trousers were tempting though not quite my colour😊
Is this your main camping method? looks interesting
Thomas, if the weather and the midges permit I would have the bivy over the tent. A lot simpler and more versatile and opens up more opportunities to camp in places where tents just wouldn't work. the tent is cool though when it is wet or there is no breeze to stop the midges flying👍
I’m considering joining a group for an overnight hike. Weather permitting this would be ideal rather than lugging my tent with me also.
👍
Cheers👍
I hope you don’t roll in your sleep 😮 🌊 I would have to use a tent 🏕️ so I wouldn’t go anywhere
I would be more worried if I sleep walked👣😊
*_Hello sir... you always look healthy and successful... keep on adventuring... you are great sir... this is what makes me I like and proud of you sir. Keep on adventuring because.... God is with the True Adventurer. greetings from Indonesia_* 👣⛰🏕💯👍
