suga wasn’t there because he had shoulder surgery and was recovering. the empty spaces was to let everyone know that suga was still with them in spirit and that bts still has 7 members no matter what the situation is 💜

You are right! Jimin's outfit and solo part were a tribute to MJ's (as well as the whole dance break, and Hobi's dance too). Jimin is wearing the same outfit as Michael did for Billie Jean!

THE EMPTY SPACE YOU SEE WAS THEM LETTING EVERYONE KNOW THAT SUGA IS STILL PART OF THE GROUP AND WITH THEM IN SPIRIT EVEN THOUGH HE COULDNT MAKE IT IN PERSON SINCE HE WAS STILL RECOVERY.

This was during the Covid lockdown so I thought they found a good balance between putting on a show and not going too over the top as people were suffering a lot at that time. In every performance where Suga was not there I loved the way they didn't alter anything, they just left a space and played his parts during the tracks.

I know it was out of their control, but the only downside to this performance was Suga not being there due to his shoulder surgery recovery.

i'm sure you already saw the comments but suga was absent because he was recovering from shoulder surgery. he held off on his surgery for years so the pandemic was the perfect time to finally heal his long term injury since pre-debut. this was in 2020 so enlistment wasn't an option at this time. yoongi was watching the whole performance with armys and supporting bts from home. they dedicated their awards (another mma/mama sweep) to yoongi and army. they even called him live on stage for him to give a quick acceptance speech. bts made sure not to replace yoongi throughout their performances and let the music play to remind everyone he is irreplaceable and missed.

SUGA SADLY WASNT PRESENT BECAUSE PRIOR TO THEIR MAMA AND MMA 2020 PERFORMANCES SUGA WAS RECOVERING FROM LEFT SHOULDER SURGERY THAT HE HAD POSTPONED FOR PAST DECADE. SO AFTER GETTING TIME OFF AND SECOND OPINION AS WELL AS PREPARING FOR ENLISTMENT SUGA DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO GET THE SURGERY TO REPAIR A LONG TIME TORN OR FRACTURED LEGIMENT IN HIS LEFT SHOULDER. BUT FOR THEIR MMA 2020 LIVESTREAMED PERFORMANCE DURING THEIR LAST SONG “LIFE GOES ON” THEY MADE A HOLOGRAM VERSION OF HIM. 💜

Guys, this performance was in 2020, during the pandemic, and SUGA was out for shoulder surgery so they left a space for him. He was out for about 6 months. They even called him when accepting awards, so he could be there on the phone, and brought his picture up with them. Jin started the process of enlisting, but it could take up to 3 months, is what I heard. They will be enlisting separately, and after their solo projects are released probably by mid to late 2023. Then they will be getting back together as a group in 2025. RM will be releasing his album next on November 25th.
I really did love how they included ARMY in their performance, and how they left a spot open for SUGA in their choreography, and played the recorded verion of his parts. And the tribute to Michael Jackson was fire🔥 These guys just always amaze me on how genuine and humble they are, yet they are so talented and confident in what they do. That's why we love them, and we are so proud of them. I will be here supporting them and waiting until they return, but for now we get to enjoy their solo projects. Borahae 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

You must always cover up the award logos and channel name as those companies are strict with copywrite. Different to BTS own MV's. Bighit don't mind as long as their intro is played from beginning.
2020 bts was really a life saver. Like really they were one if the few things that got me through it. And as you said the energy from the fans was missed.
Anyways I hope you can react to the other best award bts shows. In particular the one that made me an army back then, 2016 mma and 2017 mama the did mic drop, and you could tell they have stuff to say because they were another beast that day. Hope you have time to do it! Bts are entertaining as hell

Jin will be leaving soon for the military. He wrote and produced a song along with Coldplay called "The Astronaut" its so beautiful (he wrote it to tell Army goodbye for a little while as well as how much he loves us) . As I'm sure many others have said, SUGA wasn’t there because he'd had shoulder surgery and was recovering. The performance of Dynamite was a tribute to Michael Jackson. As they were dancing it seemed like ya'll didn't pick up on that and it's very important. Most K-pop artist find a way to pay tribute to MJJ every year through dance. When Taemin (from SHINee) gets back out there...WATCH OUT! lol He's even perfected the walk/strut [chef's kiss]
this was when Suga had his shoulder operation back in Nov 2020 and had been away for the next 2 months to recuperate so he was not able to join the end of year performances. they left an empty space for him in all their performances and always carried with them a Suga photo or standee. he was back jan 2021 for the golden disk awards but is still not able to perform until their Grammy performance in March where they finally performed Dynamite as a whole.
I am not exaggerating when I say that song (Life goes on) got me through the pre vaccine portion of Covid....I was terrified....BTS was a real lifeline...Jungkook Directed the mV
