I don't understand why anyone would believe that a soldier who takes leave has to pay for their replacement. Something like that should immediately trigger a red flag. I'm sorry that people stop online dating because of these kind of scams, because I know people who have met their husbands online and other friends are currently dating men that they've met online. However, the men that they are dating are local and not someone who's supposedly deployed in Syria. Thank you for your hard work educating people about these scams.
There are only a couple hundred generals in the entire United States military. They do very high level military work. It's ludicrous to think that a soldier would be conversing with a general about their leave or that a general would be contacting some random person who wants to meet a soldier.
True, I talked to a few romance scammers and I’m like “Blah, Blah, Blah, and yeah, yeah, yeah go on I’m listening!” At the same time I’m laughing because it’s so funny but really sad at the same time due to those who actually fall for it.
Same oldie .Pay for leave. A guy tried that on me . My son was in the military so I know that that wasn't true I ended up blocking him. Military always take care of their own. They always used that , their card, doesn't work at the bank, frozen account. And yes , I had it happen to me they don't want you to tell your family about them until they get there. They say that to older women,so they won't get hassled by their kids
Might this woman have had an inkling that something wasn't right? She lied to a friend, who loaned her money. Hmmm, if she thought this was an honest guy why wouldn't she want everyone to know about it. When anyone tells you to keep your activity a secret, understand that what you're doing is WRONG. I appreciate your efforts at educating people.
I have been dating with a man who worked in the military. We met face- to face so this has nothing to do with online scams. I can only speak on my behalf but I noticed that working in conflict areas such as in Bosnia, Afganistan (not active anymore) and Syria, it doesn't make good for mental health. I have never met a souldier who tosses love poems around. It is not only red flag but a pirate flag 🏴☠️ already before money questions.
It would have been so easy to make contact with the military about their “fees”. Then again, anyone so clueless as to even need to ask that question is probably not salvageable.
Did this woman live under a rock to believe the ludicrous stories the scammer spoon-fed her? Thank goodness someone told her it was a scam before she sent more and more and more money. If your gut is telling you something is suspicious, be brave enough to ask your fake boyfriend some hard questions.
Sometimes it gets to the point it is ridiculous. How the kid knew what was going on with his dad and the whole story with the general? The headmistress just told the boy "James, your daddy was badly injured and the woman who has been dating online and never met in person needs to pay 40k to bring him over because the army who actually employs him won´t do it"?
40,000 USD! Hell no for a flight evacuation or military man have to pay for any leave, marriage or lost ammunition or even food or drinks while being deployed
Any American strand it can always go to the US Embassy and get a return flight to native country. The only thing is once you get back to the states you have to pay the government back. I know this firsthand.
I’m sorry that you were scammed. A bit of advice is to STOP using your real profile picture, like you have here on You Tube. Scammers will see that you’re a woman of a certain age, and it’s like a dinner bell to them. And since your username might be your REAL first and last name (another no-no) AND they know you’ve been scammed before...you need to be way more savvy about your online presence or you WILL be targeted again. Just trying to help. 🙂
When you find yourself lying to friends, banks, gift card sellers, loan companies and family about why you need money, you need to do a character check on yourself. Deceit will get you what you deserve, which is pain and trouble. You may also end up alone, as no one will trust you again, once they know that you deceived them.
Wow it's always the same story isn't it! I was just thinking that i now know so much about scamming..... This lady listened finally to those nagging thoughts....
Martin David Duran with pictures of the real LTC Alex Duran . However I started to hear your videos and got some tips to follow and I carried on. He was a total gentleman however being a LTC he was in Google but there I heard a ceremony where the real one made mention of his wife Rebecca and kids. I blocked him immediately without going any further since he lied and I was always suspicious.
Lying to a friend to get money for a scammer makes you a scammer too. If you don't want to tell the truth about what the money is for you shouldn't ask for it. I think the reality is if the friend knew the real story they would have told this person it was a scam any they didn't want to hear it.

Yep
Plus, military never charge for time off, medical, travel , housing etc. They take very good care of their families
His son is 8 and has an email.
Too many red flags!!! 💯🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
"Harrington Jones," two last names that immediately should have been a tipoff of a scammer who doesn't know the difference.
Thank you for sharing with us as I listen to these stories these scammers all follow the same script.

Thats my feelings. If you feel like you have to hide or lie about a relationship, you need to evaluate it.
Military NEVER make them pay for medical and no Commander would ever call or message a random person to be responsible for it.
I love listening to your voice, it helps me sleep. Can you super please put all the stories into a marathon video?
Cheers mate 😊
Yes so relaxing!!
I am not sleepy, but I find it very soothing.
Oh yes another story! Keep 'em coming William!
Scammer every where

Your soldier is one exception. Most military profiles are all fake.

if someone is claiming to have a name like harrington?....... common sense needs to be used at this point....
It's typically an African Man's name.

Failed oil rig scammer wanted a $$$ loan.
Thank you for sharing
Please explain to me how involving kids and asking if they are my new mommy is normal? I'm sorry but that is a massive red flag IMO.
I would like to see more videos story's...l love to hear them...nice voice ❤😊
I'm waiting for this to become a diagnosis in the DSM 6. Fantasy man bankruptcy syndrome?
I don't believe people are so ignorant of the world that they would believe this crap. Or that anyone would bsend money to anyone they have never met.
Not getting the joke about rivalry between OK and TX should have been the tip-off right from the start!😛
it could have been much worse, glad you got out before paying more!
That’s good she didn’t let it get so out of control to where she was totally broke.
That's what American men do. They're just not gonna sweet talk you, that's what scammers do!

Sorry you went through this 😔 I did lost alot

As soon as they tell you to LIE to loan companies or banks about why you need money.....end the communication
I used to live in Oklahoma, I am German tho..the joke between the states is:Tuck Fexas 😂😂😂from the Oklahoman side 😅
My Ex was Army and knew their script was a joke...
Two last names or two first names can be a red flag 🚩
