Just PSA, this is a form of dermatitis that affects the scalp. I have it. Yes this is real, and yes it’s this bad. It’s very uncomfortable to live with. Imagine always being afraid of someone touching your hair or afraid to scratch your hair in public. Please be respectful, you don’t know the half of it.

Guys this is a severe form of dermatitis. It’s a genetic issue in which the cellular turn over rate for the skin is accelerated to the point of causing plaques, in combination with dandruff which is a bacterial infection of the scalp. It’s more normal than you think it is

If you're like me and struggle with dandruff, as well as having thick and curly hair that doesn't always cooperate for combing, my advice is this for a healthier scalp.
Brush your hair good before a shower, try to work any knots out, as well as just stimulate and rub your scalp good. Dont overdo it though.
Then get in the shower with a comb, the finer the comb the better, but make sure its a sturdy comb. Work the comb through your hair while its wet, until your hair is straightened out and you can easily run the comb through it (only applies for curly haired people)
Then take that fine comb and firmly scrape your scalp. Not trying to remove your skin, but trying to remove any and all dandruff that has accumulated. Make sure to cover your entire scalp and keep making passes until you stop getting flakes on the comb.
If you're trying to calm it down, use some anti dandruff shampoo after, but I find that if I do this regularly, I don't really need to use the anti dandruff as the combing routine keeps my scalp healthy and in check.
I hope this helps anyone struggling with dandruff like I did.

Ive seen this so many times. Moisturizing the scalp helps. Some people will wash their hair and think that will fix it. You're just making the scalp dryer. You need to grease your scalp or spray it with something. Dandruff will always appear on a dry scalp.

Well this is a skin condition, very different from dandruff. Dandruff is not attached to the scalp- these psoriasis-like flakes are stuck to the hair shaft and grows with your hair follicles hence why it gets thick and waxy-like. Dandruff is very minor and curable definitely silly

Did anyone else find themselves scratching too? I don't have dermatitis, dandruff, etc., but after watching this, it must be awful since it looks like it would itch all the time.
I would have to follow some of the suggestions mentioned by other sufferers like a comb in the shower or even one of those hand held scalp scrubbers that's good for circulation to the scalp and would probably work similar to a comb. The hair looks shiny and healthy and THICK which is a plus! I can't imagine how frustrating it is to have something itching but not wanting to have all these flakes and plaque fall out. Thank you for sharing!

It would be easier to shave off the hair completely then treat the scalp accordingly with the right dermatologist prescribed creams or wash.

    • @sarahko1014
      @sarahko1014 ปีที่แล้ว

There’s no cure. it’s like psoriasis. It comes and goes. shaving will not prevent or help the flare ups regardless so there’s no point of shaving the head. If anything with a shaved head you can see all the flakes and buildup but with longer hair you can at least hide it and feel comfortable out in public.

Olive oil on the scalp every night helps.
Oil treatment is required as a conditioner.
    Avoid normal shampoo.
    Infact avoid shampoo.
    Unless it's head and shoulders.
    Brushing is 👌 best.

That requires to clean your gut, change the diet. Then change the shampoo, do oregano oil diluted in water and put on scalp, rub on and let it set for 15 mnts then rinse with regular shampoo.

Dandruff is a fungus, use apple cider vinegar one a week for a hour a day then rinse it out. After that do it once a month. My dandruff is completely gone and I have always had it. My entire life. But, this is either scalp pasriosis or dermatitis.

Shaving wouldn’t help though, you would only be able to see the build up more. People with these incurable conditions usually keep their hair for that reason.
