I saw him play this live in Atlanta as the closer to his show. On the front row right beside me was a little girl, maybe seven or eight, who he had clearly seen. At the end of the song, he looks away from the crowd and says the "oh fuck" not into the mic I assume so as not to be too crass in front of this little girl. He plays the big instrumental finish and then hands her the pick he used instead of just tossing it into the crowd. After a night of being the troubadour, the vivid bright performer, he ended on a human and relateable impulse by taking time to be nice to a little girl.

    "it's about a divorce, so please don't clap"...and they don't stop clapping.

I still remember the "explosion" of sound at the end of this song at the concert he gave in 2015 at the Bataclan in Paris...and this song brings me mixed feelings about what we all know happened in that same hall a few weeks later.

This song gets me every-time.. I've just been through a breakup with someone I thought I'd be spending the rest of my life with and this song captures it all, the horror, the pain and the light that eventually comes at the end of the tunnel. Gives me hope.
"No this is not the end and no final tears,
    that will lead to show,
I thought that this would last for a million years,
but now I need to go.."
    Thank you Kristian.

Such a great ending to the song (when the band comes in).

Thanks for the upload! He sounds, as usual, even better than on the recorded version.

Got a much chipper feel to it than the studio version, maybe because the pain was still much fresher back then... This is why I so regret not seeing Sia perform Colour the Small One right when the album came out.

Not going to lie, I was expecting him to be taller.
