That impromptu picnic in the courtyard looked sooo lovely and I can imagine Antoine one day looks back on these days and remembers them fondly and hopefully has picnics with his friends and family at the same spot. Amuary is such a craftsman. His problem solving skills are second to non. He re imagines the bathroom door and how to make it work. And gets stuck in in retracking the digger..it would be great to employ an apprentice to work and assist Amaury so that he could pass on his many skills and way of realising his work..

I loved hearing Ellen talk about how we each have some thing we don’t like about ourselves, it’s so true, no matter what we look like we’re never happy. What a waste of time , spending all our days trying to change ourselves and look different when we’re perfectly fine just the way we are. Amaury was busy being a Jack of all trades as usual today, I’d love to know where he learned all he his knowledge. He reminds me of my father in many ways, his work ethic, how he cares for his tools and knows how to care for and fix many things. Dad would have loved his workshop, he’d have set about making his just like that. He had many tools and machines but when he had time to finally set up his workshop disaster struck in the form of dementia and he couldn’t do the work anymore. I hope everyone is enjoying their holidays.🙋🏼♀️

There's a lot to love here. But one thing in particular for me is how somebody taught Amaury at some time in his life how to analyze a problem, think it through and implement the solution -- right now, I'm talking about the digger fix. AND THEN ... he shared his knowledge with Dan. And you know that Dan will share the knowledge with others, especially his kids. As Joni Mitchell sang, "life is for learning." I own an 18th century American colonial home. I have some old locksets similar to yours. -- And I also remodeled a bathroom and needed to change the door-swing. I took off the lockset and have been puzzling through how to reinstall it. Thanks, Amaury for giving me a clue!
Amaury grew up with his Father and Uncle renovating Nursing Homes. His Mother was going to classes with Stephanie (teenager) to reupholster furniture and Isabelle is the queen of decorating on a budget and needlework. The kids watched and learned. I hope Antoine gets summers at Lalande learning practical skills and having fun. 😁❤🌺🌹

I recently heard a phsychologist talk about the importance in recognizing the moments in our life that bring us joy. Not only recognizing them, but physically putting out index finger into the air as a gesture when we feel joy. It fortifies the feeling and helps us remember the moment!! Speaking of a lost art, woodworking is an art that is also fading as more people are seeking other careers. These skills are not being sought after and are being lost as it is a gift the same as the embroidery and tapestry. Love watching a man using his tools! Lol hugs and love from Texas!

There's a lot to love here. But one thing in particular for me is how somebody taught Amaury at some time in his life how to analyze a problem, think it through and implement the solution -- right now, I'm talking about the digger fix. AND THEN ... he shared his knowledge with Dan. And you know that Dan will share the knowledge with others, especially his kids. As Joni Mitchell sang, "life is for learning."
I own an 18th century American colonial home. I have some old locksets similar to yours. -- And I also remodeled a bathroom and needed to change the door-swing. I took off the lockset and have been puzzling through how to reinstall it. Thanks, Amaury for giving me a clue!
Amaury grew up with his Father and Uncle renovating Nursing Homes. His Mother was going to classes with Stephanie (teenager) to reupholster furniture and Isabelle is the queen of decorating on a budget and needlework. The kids watched and learned. I hope Antoine gets summers at Lalande learning practical skills and having fun. 😁❤🌺🌹

I recently heard a phsychologist talk about the importance in recognizing the moments in our life that bring us joy. Not only recognizing them, but physically putting out index finger into the air as a gesture when we feel joy. It fortifies the feeling and helps us remember the moment!! My index finger is high in the air today! Thank you for that. Continue to bring the joy ❤️✨

So many snippets of interest in this video, I loved the lace history and the link with Leonardo! I noticed the black lacquer and gilt cabinet in the background I’d love to have a similar one. The best part of these videos is the non scripted production, it is all so natural as things happen and great seeing progress in the Chateaus restoration!
