Martens fit true-to-size, but they don't come in half sizes. If you normally wear a half-size, I would recommend to go for the next size up. It would be more comfortable for your feet. So I would go for 6 in kids and 8 for women’s size. This is my experience about docs.

Yes you can remove them and wash :) the shoes have two different colors of laces you can decide between black and the cream one
