I can answer what you want to know about your glasses. I am a retired optician. So as you guessed the "Dist" is in fact short for "Distance" The first numbers of your prescription is the power value you need in your glasses so your able to see perfectly. The higher the number the stronger your glasses are. Right now your glasses are still in the "moderate/strong" area If you get to -7.00 then that is considered as "strong" In your previous prescription your right eye didn't have any astigmatism but your left eye did. That is the -.75 number under CYL. and when you have a number in the CYL box you also then have a number in the "axis" area as well. The axis number is not a power value and is only how your lenses needs to be positioned in the frame. A -.75 is not considered as high and pretty average.
Now your new recent prescription shows some minor increases needed in your glasses. Honestly not bad at all. As you can see your distance changed very slightly. a -.25 increase is the smallest amount of change possible. As you can see you now also have astigmatism in your right eye. But only the smallest amount possible. So yes your eyes got a little worse but only by a very small amount. You really shouldn't have broken your previous glasses because they would be fine as a backup to your new glasses in case something were to happen to your new glasses. Your lenses don't look like you got the high index lenses you recommended to get. Your lenses shouldn't be anywhere near that thick if they were high index. Also I noticed that on your previous prescription thye recommended you get AR coating. On your recent prescription for some reason it was left off. But I think it was just missed because you really need that on your glasses. I think I answered all your questions but feel free to ask me anything about your glasses or your eyes.

I forgot to mention what an astigmatism does. An astigmatism effects your eyes ffor seeing things at all distances. But in your case since you already wear your glasses full time you already need your glasses to see things close up as well at a distance.

I assume what you were trying to say is that your "probably not chickbate" because you wear glasses. You couldn't be mre wrong about that. Most guys think that a girl wearing glasses is not only sexy as hell but also smart. You're a very attractive young lady with and without your glasses and i'm sure you get hit on quite often.

I just came across this earlier video from when you got those black framed glasses. Needles to say since you're previous glasses broke you needed new glasses. Just curious since your eyesight is quite poor and you clearly need full time vision correction do you have a spare pair for times like this where your either get broke or lost? As a retired optician once you start wearing glasses all the time you really should always have a backup pair available to you. The good news I have for you is that you're not going blind even though i'm sure when you take your glasses off i'm sure that you feel like you're blind. Your eyes will always be able to be corrected by wearing glasses. In the optical world that I come from your eyesight is just slightly below what is considered as having a "strong" prescription. -7.00 or stronger is considered as having a strong prescription. Your in the "moderately / strong" area. I'm really glad that you held up your 2 ,most recent prescriptions. Looking at them tells me that your eye are getting very close to becoming stable. You only had the very smallest increase possible between the previous prescription and the more recent one. I'm sure in the past your increases were likely considerably more. You only got a -.25 increase in both eyes this time and you were probably getting at -.50 or -.75 several years ago. looking at your prescription slips I saw something interesting about your lenses. It says tat you got both polycarbonate and high index lenses. Polycarbonate lenses are great for kids and for people that play some form of contact sports such as softball, soccer, volleyball or basketball because it's very impact resistant and pretty much unbreakable. But to be honest with you because your lenses are so thick anyway even if you do play any type of sports you wouldn't be in any danger of having your lenses break. In a weaker prescription is slightly thinner. Really all you should be getting is the high index (thinner) lenses in your glasses. You totally don't need polycarbonate lenses. I was glad to see that you got your previous glasses with the AR coating (anti-reflective) which since you wear glasses all the time is well worth having because it greatly reduces glare and reflections off of your glasses. But your current glasses you didn't get that option. Most likely because of the added cost. That coating generally sells for anywhere from $45.00 to over $100.00 depending on where you go for your glasses. Did you notice the difference in not having the AR coating on your lenses of your new glasses?

Jim Boice it was hell without the anti glare. My ones I have current are great with anti glare. I wouldn’t be able to drive without it.

@@YtGabrielleRegina Yes once you have the AR coating on your glasses you won't ever want glasses without it again. I still place lots of orders fro glasses for my family, lots of friends and friends of their friends and even a number of former patients and I never even ask if they want AR coating, I just include it because I think everyone that wears glasses should have it. Are you aware that by not having AR actually causes eyestrain and tires your eyes out much faster? I'm sure that driving at night without the AR coating on your glasses had to be unbearable for you. On coming car headlights hitting your glasses and the glare was literally blinding you wasn't it? After doing that yourself doesn't that scare you now when you think about how many people are out there driving wearing glasses without that AR coating on their glasses. So was it the black glasses you had just got to replace the broken ones that didn't have the AR coating on them? When you were holding up the copies of your 2 different prescription slips I noticed that the older one showed AR coating on it and the newer one didn't include the AR coating for some reason. You clearly went to the same place for your eye exam and since you had the AR on your previous glasses the optician should have warned you that you might not be happy with your new glasses not having that coating.
I see that you included an attachment about your newest and most recent glasses. I will post a comment on that video.
