11:16 "which is actually F, I don't know why they're calling it E#" Your global scale is set to D# Minor, and F in this scale is called E#. (An easy way to understand why it is called this (but perhaps not so theoretically enlightening) is because each note in the scale must correspond to a unique letter. D# minor scale already has a F#, so there cannot also be an F.)
The C major scale and the modes of C major are using only "the white keys" (without sharps of flats). So if you choose C major, D Dorian, E Phrygian, F Lydian, G Mixolydian, A Minor or B Locrian you have a scale using only "the white keys".
thanks for the reply, that's handy to know.. i don't think i explained it properly. What i meant was is there a way in AL 12 to pick any scale and have it play on the white keys only? (and with no repeated notes next to each other), if you search for the M4L device called Fold, that's what i mean, or Komplete Kontrols' 'easy mode'... thanks for you time! @@andrew_nayes
Diagonal MIDI note slice like FL has had for over a decade now? Also they should implement bezier curve diagonal MIDI note slice, so you can cut notes in a sine wave or any shape pattern. This feature should exist because it would be insane to try to implement it any other way, go ahead and think about how you would do that maybe creating your own m4l device, what a nightmare, I think it could be done, but man.
That velocity shaper looks interesting... especially on percs. Nice!
Nice work, Paul!!
Cool, finally E# after 15 years.

so was the software correct ? or is it buggy thanks
Ableton is correct. In the scale of D# minor, the note otherwise called F is called E#
Great video, thanks.. can you snap the scale to the white keys only?

are these new midi parameters assignable to an external midi controller?
How do I fade using 12

😳 I’m not certain how the Ableton upgrade model is going to work with Push (Standalone) Do those users get these new features?
I'm a beta tester, still way too buggy!!!
It’s called E sharp ( and not F) because the second degree of the key of D sharp minor has to be named E…
Marvelous! Let’s stay in touch?
Let’s
Volume of the output way too low 👎
