Thank you so much for sharing these tips. Your visuals are top notch using split screens, notes (just like powerpoint) to demonstrate each skill. I've learned a lot from you!!!
It seems that "fast hands" is really "fast brain" (anticipating what is most likely to come back at you) and paddle being back to the best response position. I find that I hit a good response then relax to admire what I just did! You need to always expect the ball to come back.
As usual great job Nicole! The side by side clips are a big help. This is how you can train to win more points when the ball is sped up. Thanks again for all the super helpful content 😀
I have found your videos helpful because you slow down the video to allow us to see the paddle position and where the ball makes contact with the paddle. Very helpful! What I haven't been able to find in anyone's video is a lefty player. this does make a difference. I am a lefty I would love to see some lefty videos.
Much of fast hands is focus, anticipation and reflex and is improved by repetition, if you don't have a partner a wall is a great tool and works on your schedule.
this is really useful content. appreciate the breakdowns in the video on the different counter attacks. this is an area that I always felt was on the back of mind as need to improve, but I didn't have the vocabulary to think about all the options and use cases and how exactly to improve. thank you
Nicole, as always this is an excellent video. The side by side helps visualize the concept. I have been using the Slingball machine since I watched your video with the different settings. Wondering if you have any recommendations on how to set it up to be able to practice these NVZ shots. Thank you again.
Great video, Nicole. I have a couple of questions. 1) I noticed in the opening demos of types of attacks, Kady is off the NVZ about 2 feet. Is this what you recommend if you're under attack? 2) at apx 10:50 in the video, Kady is hitting a short swing counter. She strikes the ball on the bottom corner of her paddle. Is this the optimal area in this example? Asking so I know how to drill it.
great questions. If you're being attacked and you can take some space back to give yourself more time and still get set in time to face the attack with authority (not backpedaling as you hit) then do it. If you strike the ball slightly off center then you get will get an off pace response as compared to if you hit it in the sweet spot. So if you're looking to hit a little slower and lower while swinging in virtually the same way then hitting a little off center is a good way to do this.
As you pointed out, trying to reset a low hard attack is extremely difficult, you’ll probably just pop it up. I think the higher percentage shot is to hit it hard directly at your opponent to offset their timing and get a slower response to work with.
It's nearly impossible to find pb practice partners at the lower level. Everyone just wants to play clown show pb 😢. So, I drill off a wall for now. I appreciate this video and all your other videos!
In hands battles I’d suggest continental if you’re going to use one hand on both FH and BH. If you’re going to hit two handed BHs then you can use Eastern.

Right, no time for admiration...just assess and respond.

Thank you! Appreciate the positive feedback.

Thanks for the comment. I hear you. I'll keep it in mind.
@@primetimepickleball yes some lefty stuff pleeeeze ;-)
Thank you for sharing the techniques. They are really useful and helpful!
You are so welcome!

yes you're right a wall is a great training tool!
Excellent training. One thing you didn't mention is that Kady with the first four shots uses one hand. On the Reset, it looks like a two hander.
Thank you. Yes, many people are using two hands on the backhand reset for more stability.
Thanks. Have needed some ideas on this subject. Hands-battles happening with me more often now.
my pleasure.

Yes, you have to raise the bag to train these. Here's how to setup the Slingerbag for this type of training. th-cam.com/video/hiCs8av4kxE/w-d-xo.html
Great stuff Nicole! I always appreciate your content.
Awesome! Thank you!

yes that's a good approach to start but you definitely want to be able to reset those low ones as well to up your level.

Thanks Ann! Sorry to hear you have trouble finding a partner but yes, a wall works great. A ball machine does too if it's in your budget.
What happens with the grip? Should we be more eastern grip when countering?

Grip is still evolving , players should experiment with their own playing style
xLNt Love your work
Thx! 🙏🏻
Better when watched on 1.75 speed.
lol ok
You were/are a great player and these are good tips...
Toooooo looooooong!!😢
Thank you for the compliment and for the feedback
