compre este disco original y lo amo tanto !!!!!! the wretched y endogenesis fueron y siguen siendo mis canciones favoritas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I know them, I just didn't remember it was him... I think he has been good on World of Glass, and Kjetil is great on Ashes and the 3 songs he growled for Illumination, just like Morten has been great on Widow's Weeds and Beyond the Veil. I think each album's just different from the others, and each one needed different moods, that's all. And my favourite album stays Widow's Weeds. It somehow gives me the idea of perfection...
first time i listend to this song I was on the interstate I drove into a violent lightning storm smothered in black purple clouds it was freaking awsome... midnight at 3 pm in gods tesla coil
The third is In The Wake, a bonus track which is according to me a real masterpiece. Anyway you could just try the other albums on my channel...there are the playlists with full albums...'cause I'm always curious to know what people think of anything regarding Tristania, and this is no exception ;)
@JaimeVerdugo96 Unless someone understands what he's saying or you ask the songwriter, you won't know. I checked the album booklet and the lyrics start with "Welcome my friend", sorry.
Oh and actually it isnt Kjetil the one growling on Illumination,it is a guest growler, the singer from the band Samael! ;) I just dont remember his name..hehe xp. Oh and you said "the 3 songs on Illumination" Which is the other? I only know Mercyside and The Ravens with growls, which is the 3th?
No, I don't think so. Kjetil is amazing, he just had a different way of growling. He probably wouldn't fit on the previous albums, but on Ashes he's just perfect, and that's the same for those 3 songs in Illumination. I don't think I could like someone else doing them. And by the way, I don't know if everybody knows that on World of Glass it wasn't Morten growling but a man from another band, 'cause Morten had left already. Though that album is commonly thought to be their best ;)
Well i dont have Ashes and Widows Weed yet..so I cant make a full judgement yet..but to me World of Glass is a perfect album,Beyond the Veil comes close, and it has a perfect gothic atmosphere and Illumination is really awesome!!
@imaginary92 Yeah the singer growling on World of Glass (actually my favorite album by them) was Ronny Thosen the singer from Trail of Tears, you never heard of them?? and honestly I think Ronny is a better growler than Morten, maybe not on Tristania, but gererally!! Oh and I really think that World of Glass is their best album,it is perfect!!
To me Illumination is the worst...it bores me except for 3 songs that I absolutely love. Ashed would be my 4th favorite after Widow's Weed my 3rd..I find Ashes to be as interesting and dark and gothic as Ww..maybe not as beautiful but its amazing..its even more preogressive..I think its beautiful and perfect for itself. Plus Osten sings more often and ive always liked him more than Viveke and the new black vocals and heavier moments after very calm and gloomy moments is something I love!
Like I said, its just because I'm not into that kind of metal. If I was then I'd love it and there is nothing all that wrong with it. I actually really love illumination and rubicon, just because they seem to be the band's most conceptually complex and sophisticated albums. But I like the earlier stuff for very different reasons, my point being that all of them are too hard to compare on a deep level and thats great! I don't like a band that does the same thing over again like sirenia's AEFE
I liked tristanias Death metal vocals at the time they were sung by Morten Veland. The new growler(s) do not catch the atmosphere I felt when listening to Morten's growls. But I like the choirs and Vibeke's voice.
I want to agree with you but in all honesty, all the albums are too different to compare. The first two were very similar, having stereotypically gothic lyrics and elements, with BTV being much darker, WOG took all that and fused it with harsh industrial elements and lyrics about religion and the first world, ashes took a death metal approach with lyrics generally about mental disorder and the most recent 2 being calm but heavy with almost new age styles and being about human psychology and war.

This album is a great piece of metal, it's very original. I've never listened to an album that sounds like Ashes.
amazing song!!!!!!!!
I love Tristania
Tristania did it with this song The Wretched. Feels even better jamming to it!

I thought that was Samael's vocalist who did the grolws in the 3 songs of Illumination...

@imaginary92 Actually, the harsh vocals on Illumination were performed by Vorph from Samael.
mis favoritas

2022 anyone?
Ya I think Tristania was heavier with Morten's vocals.

Ashes is probably the worst in my opinion but thats just because of a difference in taste, its a beautiful album altogether.
