This was wonderful. I work as a production manager in a theatre company and found this really helpful to listen to and think through and evaluate my role.
I just closed my third consecutive big show and am starting up another small one in our company while contracting out a smaller live event next month. This week I’m just trying to rest but also thinking through where I want to focus in to improve my craft this next winter.

I’m looking for a career change to follow my passions and this is exactly what I needed! Thank you 🙏 I’m not exactly sure where to start, I’d like to work for a music festival company but I’m coming from a background in fire/emergency medical services. Any suggestions for getting experience without having a background in stage production or anything similar?

Hey there, thanks for your question and getting in touch, we're really glad you found this video useful! It really depends on where you live and what you have available for you in your area. A great place to start is by volunteering at your city's arts and film festivals - and through this later approaching them to enquire about volunteering or work placement roles shadowing producers and/or production managers at their events.
