Muy buen video. Muchas gracias. Yo lo tenía grabado en vhs pero se me perdió. Además estuve en ese concierto acá en Santiago de Chile. Muy lindos recuerdos. Además, si no me equivoco fue el último o uno de las últimas presentaciones dizzy. Nuevamente gracias.
Dizzy was very much overshadowed by Miles. It’s good to see his various works popping up on TH-cam as they have been. He was really important from beginning to end. The fact that he stayed in a more straightahead jazz groove doesn’t mean he wasn’t moving forward… Just in different directions.
Excelente concierto.
I live in Kansas City Missouri. Down the street from 18th and Vine😊 when they opened up the jazz department with Charlie Parker's statue❤ Edward James olmos was there. I spoke to him briefly. 10 paquito de Rivera came out😅 And they had pulled the plastic white horn out and give it to him. He's stood there and looked it over. Then said as much money as he put into making this happen. They should put even more money to fix this horn😮 then he proceeded to play the s*** out of that White plastic horn. Bird lives!! Great respect for Dizz.. UC how he represented in this concert. Instead of Giovanni Hidalgo. Bird and Dizz had "changuito!" Mango Mague is still one of my favorites😅
I love Wynton. One of the greatest trumpet players that’s ever lived and he always goes on about the ‘importance of swing’ but playing music with any Latin rhythm he is out of his depth.Arturo Sandoval is far more versatile.
Que lujo por Dios!!!...Todas estrellas!!!
