This goes back in time a ways but in 1968 I built my first 1938 Bentley 2 door Coupe 4 1/4L engine. The engine had Babbitt rod bearings and Babbitt main bearings, also the rods used Babbitt spacers at the rods split line to set bearing preload. This was a very delicate procedure. Four Babbitt spacers were used to set crankshaft end play. I had been working imported autos for 5 years at that time. I had built many engines but this was my first using Babbitt. I got it done.
Well done, Keith, showing it as it is...he who has never poured a babbit has never had a leak. I have had many leaks over the years uttering words unusable on TH-cam..yeah I like the fire clay, which is also usually effective 😅
Awsome to watch! I always wondered how that works. But why was the mispoor dripping under the table and not in the drip edge of the table? I burned myself as a kid making tin soldiers on molten tin going througt my pants as a mould did not seal. it is not something you want to have dripping on your legs or feet.
I've been subscribed to your channel since the start and donated to your shop move fund. Despite subscribing and setting notifications, for the last year or so I no longer get notifications of new vids from you specifically. Same thing seems to have happened to MrPete222 too.
I’ve poured a lot of Babbitt It’s much easier to pour them using a shaft cut half and then bolted to an angle then the casting is sealed against the plate

Hello from San Antonio, TEXAS!
You might want to try Deacon Mold-Pac. It's a pretty good replacement for Babbitrite.
What have you been smoking?
Beautiful rendition of God Bless America.

I don't know why but most likely has to do with Google or TH-cam and there control .
I use exhaust sealer works good

Now you know why you can't get too many people to do this job and it's a specialty and you don't do it in one poor maybe two or three
