This was a difficult video to make. It's hard to admit that I was such a miserable and horrible man in my younger years. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me. Thank you.

Wow, I was born in 1968, My father in 1950, and Your life was just about the life I have had as well. My childhood was a nightmare as well, especially while my father was around, but my Mom tried to make it palatable while he was working, but he had a problem with authority, so he lost many jobs because of his attitude.
I was extremely abused emotionally, verbally, psychologically, physically, and sexually every day by him. He also knew how to give a beating so the bruises wouldn't show. I was only allowed to speak when spoken to, sit perfectly still with my hands on my thighs, and anything I said had better be minimal, and a generic polite response. I lived in fear of him killing me every day if I was not perfect, and did everything I was told to, and expected to do. I had to cook, clean, do laundry, take care of the house, and my two younger brothers all at 9 years old. In addition to that I was bullied and picked on in school every day, So I couldn't even find refuge in going to school. When I reached out to people I thought I could trust, they either didn't understand, couldn't believe it was true due to shock or didn't want to get involved.
Once (DSS), as they call it in my area, came to the house. I thought I was saved, I thought this was it, my big chance to tell someone who would understand and save me. The (DSS) worker looked in the cabinets, the fridge, the bedrooms, and gave my father a business card. Then in front of my father, and everyone sitting in the living room, the social worker nonchalantly asked, "How are you", as if passing us on the street. My automatic response, which I was programmed to say, was "fine". I was never taken aside in private, nor asked any specific questions, which I was just bursting to tell them. So 'YES F-U (DSS)...Well at least I have had the same end result of strength, wisdom, overcoming, and character, thankfully by the grace of God!!!

Sometimes ya just gotta talk to sort things all the shit in our heads in order find clarity. I got my ass whooped as a child. My Uncle James was no one to fuck with. However, we all have gifts and challenges in life from the moment we are born. We learn to overcome our challenges and our gifts become more prominent. Emotions are just energy; Its normal.
Anyway, I'm super proud of you brother. Look at all of the success you've had thus far. Some people overcome and some are stuck. You should take a moment to actualize how great you are Randy. With age, comes experience in life and you wouldn't know everything you know today, if it weren't for everything you've been through.

It took a lot of guts to make this video, to talk about your past and yourself personally. My heart goes out to you and my hat comes off to you for what you have accomplished and who you have become.
Don't give up Randy, don't ever let your present values leave you . I am listening to you while typing this, it is so hard to imagine a person having a horrible life like this, you my friend are a walking miracle. I wish the best for you, God knows you deserve it. B.G.

I'm so sorry for everything you have been through and are going through. I have had similar childhood experiences, as has my husband. Though not quite the same level as what you went through. I really give you credit for turning out as well as you did, and putting forth the effort to change your life and be a good dad. I'm sorry you have so many problems with your ex and the kids. I truly hope everything works out in your favor and that your son gets the help he needs to live a normal life. I'm glad you have Jessica to be there for you. I know it's not easy to go through these things.

Your childhood practically mimics my deceased wife's. She also grew up in Mustang, OK. Crazy. And I'm so sorry you had a horrific childhood. The fact you have broken that cycle of abuse is a testament to the man you've become! My wife's ex got custody of their daughter AND he went behind everyone's back and gained child support from my wife's disability pay. You're having a very hard go at life since childhood. All you can really do at this point is turn to your Higher Power. I wish I could be of more help to you, but I support you and hope better things are in store for you.

I was abused growing up as well, and so I do understand that side of growing up. When the people that are supposed to protect and nurture you are the ones responsible for the pain you experience, like you said so eloquently, it changes you...does things to you.
You are very brave to tell your story and to lay bare your past and life here and to be the change you sought. Because of that, I find it hard to look at you and see the man you describe as being in the past, so that means you've done a wonderful job in changing, and you have become pretty awesome today.
    Big hugs, Randy!

I think making this video must have been very cathartic and it took courage to go into all that. You're to be commended.
You and I have something in common. My parents physically and emotionally abused me but my father was much worse than my mother. He would even draw blood on occasion but there was never an ounce of justification for any of it. I was the best child my parents ever hoped to have and if it hadn't been for all the teachers who loved me and made my life a joy during school hours I don't know where I would have been today.
I grew up to finish college and I'm someone people come to for counseling and advice. I love who I am and I think all I went through helped make me who I am today. Even though I don't have one family member at all...everyone has passed over already...I know that I went through everything that happened for a reason.
I admire you for getting all this out and I like you more than I did. Good going Randy!

It truly was. I am feeling much better and more motivated today. The positive comments are really lifting my spirits. My father always claimed my success as his own. He claimed if he hadn't been so hard on me I would have never made it in life. What a POS... Congratulations of making something of yourself. It's a hell of an accomplishment. It's so much easier to turn to drugs / alcohol.

Randy, you are an incredible person. You have more strength than any normal person would be expected to have in the face of the incredible amount of personal adversity you have overcome and continue to do so. Hearing your story makes me think of Joseph and what he endured due to the jealousy of his brothers. Stay strong brother. God obviously has a plan for you and for you to have made it this far He must be helping give you that inner strength to carry on. Also you have more than made up for any misdeeds committed in the past by enduring all of this yet continuimg on for a positive outcome. I pray that it is His will that things eventually end in your favor. Until then peace brother and know that you have a lot of respect and support from those who follow you here for what it's worth.

Hey brother, happy to do so. I've had my share of life hardships myself; most of my adult life just trying to stand up again after life knocked me down only to get knocked back on my ass over and over so I can relate a little bit. I wont go into the details since it's irrelevant as well as not nearly as extreme as what you have endured. I will say that it says a lot about your strength and moral character that you keep on going and look for new ways to improve your life rather than give up. It took a lot of sack to put this video out for everyone to see and hopefully it will serve as inspiration to others who have been kicked in the teeth by life. To anyone who criticized this video or you for making it they need to learn a bit about respect as well as how someone can overcome extreme adversity and hardships if they are willing to work for it. Thanks for sharing Randy. I am a Christian and I believe that you will be rewarded for fighting off your demons and not letting others drag you down and away from your path to personal success. God Bless and thank you again for making all these videos to help inform us less seasoned drivers. Best wishes for the upcoming holidays.

Wow going through your old videos and I am just amazed at what you went through, I had a very good childhood but I to was molested by a teenager, but other than that my childhood was a dream come true compared to yours, a good mom and dad and the molestation was completely unknown to my parents to this day. But that never really goes away does it(my mom's friends son and they didn't come over often), but it was a very rare thing to happen and I was well cared for, I feel for what you want through, prayers for you! As for my kids no one loves their kids more, but my son has severe autism and I know well that feeling of helplessness, as he is (mostly in the past) a runner and it makes life tough sometimes. Anyway mad respect to you friend!

It is always nice to hear someone with a story like mine. I was sent to school once with welts on my back from being whipped with a wire cloths hanger and the teacher pulled me out of class into the principals office to question why I couldn't sit in my desk. I was scared of getting beat for saying anything to I just stood in the corner crying telling them not to touch me because they called in the social worker and she was trying to pull my shirt up. The worst. Bless you.

It’s not easy. Thank you for giving hope to those in similar situations. Holidays can be rough on families and also on those without family. You broke a cycle in your family by getting on the right path and getting help. I believe your strength is also in your son and because of the cycle you broke, he will come out on the other side like you did. I really believe that ❤️

It's been awhile since i commented last on your videos. the last was about how as a man it's ok to cry. (great vid btw) I am sorry you had to go through that. That sounds absolutely horrible. As someone who has studied psychology for awhile now I'd say it's not good to laugh at these truly evil acts that were done to you. That's what your abuser wants. (to make light of the situation.) I almost gave you a standing ovation for seeing that your mom is complicit in what happened to you. Bravo my friend. Most people never realize females have responsibility too. Have you been to therapy? I think the right therapist would help you out a lot my friend. It certainly has for me and I lived a similar childhood as you but with less violence. Your going to need someone in your corner to help you. Stay away from psychiatric pills though. That stuff only puts a band aid on a deep wound. I hope it helps.

Randy, as hard as it may be may be, looking at this as being at Ground Zero may help. Don't look at what you've lost, but would you do have. You're young man, and it appears, through hard work you've done well for yourself to this point. It sounds as though do you have a fiancé who cares, certainly since she's standing by you with all you've been through. Try to look up and build on from what you do have and build a stronger life from there. Try to deal with the negatives one step at a time. All the best to you and yours...

Hey Randy, I am just going to do a "short" comment because I was not expecting to hear your details of your painful up bringing and I watch all your video , so I feel your pain!... I will not compared your life to mine but I felt and feel the same gutting pain from time to time although it comes from different circumstances but the pain is there from our child memories till today , pain that makes us what we are from life lessons learned and try not to repeat again as adults , trying to do the right things for the ones we care, my pain started me at 15 and got deep into drugs for over 30 years and finally had to make sane choices for myself by myself, no one knows really how much I got into it, let`1s put it this way, that`s why I am doing uber today , I been blowing money for years , but I can now only blame myself and help myself ,so been self sober for the last 15 years all on my own and the details will die with me someday! ... all I can say is if you understand and have change for the good and others still treat you like shit trying to bring you to their level, I really believe is time to move on and let them sink on their own ... I am not a father but I moved away from mine a long time ago and at a distance I feel we get along better, I don`t owe him shit ,he does not owe me nothing either and as far of your son I have always said , as long as you had taught them right from wrong ,then is up to them to make the right decisions on what path they choose to get to a good life or a painful one once they decided they no longer want your advice, care or love.... I would concentrate on the love ones you have now and shield them from the ones trying to destroy you, I would even move away to loose them if not for a while for things to cool down or forever, that`s just me , lawyer up and let them get their custody as they wish but somehow just leave a phone# or email to your son if one days he needs to reach out and talk , he is getting to that age that only when he is ready he might want to start over a honest relationship ,when he starts thinking on his own , not manipulated by others.... anyways we all have our closets full of demons but we can all hope the best happy future and try to seek peaceful life ,do the best we can and die like decent human beings, help the ones you can and let go the ones they make your life worse... you are happy with your girl and son , then protect them from harm , this is your time to be happy , you can`t fix the unhappiness of others , maybe just a hope for your son if he is willing to listen in the future... anyways , feel for you , hope things work for you better and find the happiness you seek ,I know looking at the past is ok to understand what you don`t want to be, but it is also depressing and does not help you heal those wounds...you got a new life going forward , move on and the good ones will follow , the assholes don`t need to catch up!... Good Luck and Hugs Bud!...I took the time to write because you took the time to share for free videos that helped me confront my fear of starting uber when I had no one to help and felt alone , so I am always thankful to you weather you knew it or not! Thanks!

Man,I had a pretty shitty childhood much like your own,but your story takes the cake for worst. I get you on feeling your mother's love slowly vanish. It's one of those things that gave us strength, unbeknownst to us,and it leaves us feeling cold and abandoned. My mother cares about me,but it's been a long time ago since she showed me affection. God bless you, man, and may your future years be filled with joy and comfort.

Randy, this is the most horrific stories of anyone that I've heard. Obviously there are many like yours, and many much worse. However I can't imagine that. You Randy are a hero in my eyes because you are telling a horrible story of how you were brought up, and how you overcame all your abuse to become a hell of a guy! Please find a resource and tour this country telling your story. Too many children are living what you lived and they need to hear your life story. They need your help. Be the one person that you needed to hear in your childhood. Praying for you.

Randy, We have never met in person but there are many experiences that connect us. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am here in OKC. If you ever want to grab a cup and BS, about life, Uber, business, family I am never too far away in the city. It much easier to be "alone in crowd" than many people realize, and sometimes any one with a kind ear to listen is the difference between desperation and hope. I am a bit older and less tech savvy than most folks on here so I am not sure how to give you my contact information without giving to everyone of your 41,000 subscribers. If there is a way, let me know.

I have been watching your videos for little over a year now. This one popped up for me to watch yesterday and I was like when I get time I will watch it,so today after your copart walk around I did.It took a real man to put all of that out there man. It's just so good seeing what you have accomplished. We all hurt for sure,I had gotten things back in line for myself and was doing great last year, then on my birthday I got a phone call that changed my life,it was my aunt telling me my little brother had committed suicide.I really took a few steps backwards after that for sure. But today I did get a job offer from O'reilys autoparts which is something I know and love and I hope to keep myself so busy with this that I dont have time to sit around and drink and try to make it all go away.Sorry for the long ass comment but I just wanted that it makes me feel good to see what you have came from and where you are at now.God bless and keep up the great work.

Randy... I have watched your videos since the beginning, and I don't think I have ever actually commented. I admit when I saw this one posted a couple years ago, I said "ehh.. later. I don't have time for an hour-long video." Well, I decided today that I would play this while working on my own car. I never made it to the car. Instead, I sat here riveted to the spot. Now, I have always enjoyed your videos, I have learned a lot from you, and laughed along at various moments... I'm not laughing now. I had no idea about your past... but now that I am filled in, I must say.. WOW what an inspiration you are. I was contemplating emailing you in the past regarding things similar to what you do, but always got distracted. Dude... I am absolutely serious when I say that you have been through so much, yet succeeded... You overcame your past and, while you still have issues, you are strong. I have to say, you're no longer a content creator that entertains me... you're now a person who inspires me. Thank you for posting this.

I am so sorry you got treated like that and what you had to go through. Your story really got to me i was in tears hearing this. I didn't have a good childhood either and my father was similar to yours. My father was always hard on me and if i made one mistake my father would get in my face and yell at me. And hes still like that nowadays.I never got abused but i definitely got treated like crap. And my mother was similar to your mother and she never done anything about it. And i have been going to a therapist cause of my anger and how my father was treating me. And i feel the same way to sometimes i feel like i dont have nobody to talk to. It is a miracle how you came out to be an honest person after the situation.

My father told me I was a accident followed later by my mother saying I was a failed abortion. My father was a IV coke user. I was homeschooled the first 10 years of my life because if DSS found out how bad the family situation was they would take me and my siblings. My father was very abusive physically and verbally. I've battled having self confidence he was so mean. The list goes on but your video really has inspired me to pick up the pieces and move forward. Knowing someone else had it rough makes life more understandable and easier to digest. Thanks Randy!

Randy, don't know if you are a Christian. If you are, I ask you to give it all to God. I believe in the Biblical story of the Prodigal son. Your children will come back into your life. This is all temporary. In the interim, you take GREAT care of the family that is nourishing who you are. Your fiancee and her son love you for YOU. Hang onto that, manage the rest...and KEEP PUSHING THRU.

Btube 83 Their is good and bad with every situation, just like a negative and positive. We see every day, from the beginning of time. Negative things can happen to one person or group of people, and I believe it called sin. Dosnt matter what color or creed u are . I believe in instructional book called the bible that tells all, I also believe that Jesus died for every sin that I have and will commit. I have seen miracles happen, because I have let the positive in my life.

Hey Randy I have been following you for over 3 years and I appreciate your transparency and courage to talk about something so painful. Sorry to hear that you were raised by selfish & abusive people. I would encourage you to connect with a local bible based Christian church. You can get a wealth of support from a good local church and an awesome outlet for you to talk to people who really do care. Unfortunately this world we live in is not fair and unfortunately bad things happen to good people. God gave Man free will and unfortunately man allowed sin to come into this world and sin will not be fully stomped out until Jesus Christ returns. I agree with Edward Napier give it all to God and pray for God's guidance. I'll keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. Have a good night Brother. In Jesus's Christ name I pray for healing over your situation.

My father was a good man, I think. He did use the belt, but properly. He never beat me, he also was a military veteran and veteran police officer (retired, both). The problem wasn't him, it was me, I was unruly in the beginning and he helped me shape myself into a proper man to commit myself to work. To be productive and not spoiled. Regardless, I agree with you on a lot of you've shared.

Well Randy, what I have seen unfold in this life journey as I am pushing closer to 70....is that some of those who we were taught to stay with no matter what....can be replaced with a “new family”. The internet has connected us with people who share and live by many of the values we honor. So, those family members who haven’t or chose to not change by life lessons....we must keep them away from our space....to make way for our new “internet family”. We are either living together or dying together.
You and I are powerless over these biological family members and their actions. All we can do is...the next right thing. If they want the children, then you get a lawyer and set the payments and visitation. If they won’t let you see the children...the children will adults soon...then maybe, just maybe, you can reconnect with them. Just don’t let anyone hold you hostage to pass bad behaviors that you have changed to make your life and those around you better.
Nevertheless, your immediate focus is being a better dad, a better husband, and a friend to the “son” and “wife” , and the “internet brothers and sisters” you have now.
This conflict only shows that this is an emotional moment to learn from. Find out how other people are successful in this type of conflict...and apply the same strategy...and you will grow thru this conflict. Yes it hurts. Yes you will cry. However, once conquered, it will never appear in your life again.
I have found that when I get on my knees and hold hands with my family....and pray...miracles happen! A Man’s prayer is extremely powerful because you turn over powerlessness to a God of your understanding...not a church...not another human...just to the energy that holds up the Sun! We send you Peace, Prosperity, Great Health, and Blessings!
