  • Naughty By Nature rapper Treach spoke openly about his friendship with 2Pac during an exclusive interview with VladTV, where he revealed that the two of them met by being roadies for Queen Latifah and Digital Underground. It was at this time that Treach and 2Pac made many connections on the road that would later help them both in their careers.
During the conversation, Treach spoke about 2Pac ramping up his studio recording after getting shot at Quad Studios in New York. He then addressed claims that Biggie had something to do with the situation, and you can hear Treach's response above.

This dude could have threw another log into that Pac and Big fire that's been cold for years. Instead he took the route of a true man and said " Nah" it wasn't like that. I thought the same thing two years ago, but if it was that easy pac could have went to biggie like a man, sat down and they could have chatted, but pac was on another level mad, which I can't blame him because you don't know who to trust now days, I knew biggie had nothing to do with what happened to pac, but pac was angry and felt biggie was his boy, but biggie wasn't no gangster he just knew a lot of crips , on the same note it's all about wether you my boy or not, if I can trust you, I honestly think biggie wasn't on the level of confronting somebody about did you Ron my man's an all, which is crazy because if you rap it and don't live it something's wrong, I'm a big pac and biggie fan but wow

I thought church would forever be our biggest downfall, now we got two... Either we stay cowardly idle praising entities, or courageously misguided killing each other for no cause... It's 2017 & people still don't know the meaning behind Pac saying "thug"... My mind just can't comprehend these facts, & I'm from that hole in wall, roach infested projects... Who would glorify that bullshit like it's something to respect...smh I respect that it made me the person I am today, but I'll never go back to bullshit... Motherfuckers embracing poverty, imagine that...😩😩😩 No need to, just go outside, the elites created this negative utopia just for us black people... I fucking love Treach. Naughty by Nature was my shit...Treach is in my top 10 greatest MCs. . I think with the Biggie situation Tupac was hurt n didn't understand biggie had no pull in the hood because he wasn't one of them. I said that years ago, I felt it was a misunderstanding and Pac wasn't trying to hear nothing because he was in his feelings. He didn't want anything to happen to Biggie ,it was about the principal. If I ride for u, u r supposed to ride for me n at the studio nobody has his back. I always felt like they would've eventually talked n squashed it n been cool. It might not have ever been the same but the east vs west shit would've stopped. If u think about Pac was both ,born in New York and raised in California, so I'm sure he felt like he was riding for both coast. I remember another of Pac friends actor Bokeem woodbine talking about one of the last conversations he had with Pac was him being tired of the beef, the bad energy, was talking about doing a project of east n West coast rappers, including biggie to show the beef is dead. He was gonna call Biggie n arrange to sit down n talk about all of the shit to clear it up and finally squash it.. . If he sat down n thought about allegedly they didn't know he was going to be there until he drove up n Lil caese saw him. They had different studios on different floors. Treach should know because he knew them both n he just proved my point that biggie wasn't gangster. When he dropped his first single n it was popping I was like ok, because I recognized the sample. I started questioning shit in the lyrics,Then later his mom calls him out. This dude was an only child ,went to private school, he never missed a meal never went without heat,he never missed Xmas n birthday gofts because they were poor ,it was because they were Jehovah witness. I start feeling like he was a fraud, then he start beefing with my guy Tupac, so I was on the fuck biggie bus.... Everyone was young ,rich ,had too many yes men around ,folks that didn't mean well around them stirring the pot. I believe biggie feared the people who were around him because he didn't know how to deal with them or tell them get the fuck on. I hate they both died without resolving it n a friendship was ruined forever. Those 90s we're the best times of my life,. We thought the 80s was the shit when we got Run DMC and rap breaking records, but late 80s going into 90. The south is on the map n we are getting more styles n I choices. 90 s come in and now it's about a new direction with NWA, The Geto Boys, UGK, man it was the life. That is the era I would go back to in a heartbeat if I had a time machine........Shannon b

But when gangsta rap blew up people jumped on the bandwagon. It wasn't hard to do because most rappers had to deal with criminal element (mostly dboys )to help them with studio time and money to put the demos out.NWA, the rappers who started that mess wasn't gangsters ,Eazy sold dope. The rest loved rap and music. Followingfist ...Facts my iTunes library consist of late 80s, 90s and early 2000 music that were from the artist from or of that same generation...I hate these bullshit bubble gum dish songs and these crazy ass dance songs that come with it...How can you tell who is who with everyone being named a Lil something or Young this etc...Damn near everyone is on autotune so it’s the same shit over and over with these lame ass bars and hooks and these niggaz are getting deals from it...It was hard to get a deal back in the day...Now every weirdo that competes with women in who has on the tightest skinnies and fucked up hairdos has a deal smfh.

Songs were different and also, which tends to be completely forgotten, rappers were actually putting effort into their flows.
They used to tailor it to the beat, vary their flows, pause, restart, accentuate words, lots of internal rhymes designed around the beat, etc. etc. There was a real art to it.
Today, even the ones that are not mumbling, are just reciting their verses, same intonation, line after line, beat after beat. And that includes the "critically acclaimed" ones. Compare Kendrick's flows with 2Pac's side by side and if you understand what I am talking about, you will see the difference immediately.

Come on now big, pac, Dre, snoop , mobb deep etc.... R&B was killing it. The one and only The Goat Michael JJJ JORDAN, PENNY HARDAWAY , the whole NBA. Was 🔥. EVERY ASPECT OF THE 90'. Us
