There is only a pair of power feeder cables (one for each line) which is what comes with the basic Unitram set. They are located in the middle of the oval at the front of the layout where all the points are. I have designed the layout so there is no need for isolation. By switching between the four points (2 x Unitrack and 2 x Unitram) it automatically isolates each line. This layout has limits and in some sections you can only run one tram at a time.
Thanks for reply, are you using just the two standard power points i.e have you had to add more power connections I really like the idea you have had and put into such a good layout, can I get away with a power input for each track.? if so may I copy your point idea? Thanks
ja lubię jeżdzić tramwajem po Warszawie to miast z tej makiety jest superowe brakuje tylko jakiś zabytków np zamek króla zabytkowa katedra i inne przy następnej makiecie proszę o europejskie klimaty
The Kato Portram trams in this video use DC. I used #4 points to allow some independent control and change the current direction. Works well. Saves having to use DCC. I have heard of people who have successfully added DCC to the Kato Portrams.
I couldn’t believe this was 11 years ago. Still looks good until today 2024. I just ordered my first tram. Will upload the video soon.
@@jercsgn Thanks for the positive comment.
I can watch this for hours. Good for the heart.
And mind!
Nice units. Make sure tracks are level and clean for best running.
Wonderful clean setup, thanks!
Cool ! These look a bit like our new CAF Urbos 3 trams in Edinburgh, except they have 7 carriages.
It's like magic! Now get the cars and trucks to move too!
NoviceT No its not.. Check out the Russian layout in Moscow, it will blow you away.
This is great!
Very cool dude you got yourself a new sub

This layout does not use any automation. I prefer to manually start and stop the trams. Thanks for your comments.

The white semi-trailer and excavator are made Tomytec. You can buy these on eBay. Just search for Tomytec Excavator Model N Scale.

I see there are no catenary (overhead) wires. Are the prototypes battery or diesel powered?
PreNeanderthal been asleep?
Yes. Having a very pleasant snooze thank you. Dreaming about (overhead powered) model electric rail vehicles running with pans up and WIRES.
PreNeanderthal No, they have nuclear generators powering them and they glow at night..
cool, it just looks a bit heavy in the middle like its dragging its belly across the floor.
Have had this problem with Kato trams, best to return them for replacement as the sagging middle does affect every one.
C est géniale
How did you get the DCC module in those tiny trams? I'm trying to figure it out.2 of my trams came with DCC but the Japanese models did not. Thanks

@@ConceptModelTrains- Oh, so you didn't do the DCC then. Okay Thanks. I'll see about an auto block stop forth Trams at the station then. Thanks
