I highly doubt Embo will be in it... It's like when they said Plo Koon was going to be in Mando 2 finale... Which made zero sense at all... It's just a ruse to disguise what is really going on.
People are putting mando way too high up on the power scale. Thrawn is a Luke villain, way above anything mando should be dealing with. He’s just a bounty hunter. This sounds exactly right.
I love Embo, would love to see him in live action, and would guess that "main villain" is an oversimplification, more likely he would be a main physical antagonist to Din, 2 formidable bounty hunters pitted against each other. That could be really cool. The "main villain", or real overarching evil, could be anyone from Thrawn to Somehow Palpatine to Gideon's clones, who knows? At this early stage I have enough faith in Jon and Dave to deliver something worthwhile.
I love Embo, and I would love to see him and his "dog" meet Din & Grogu. Given how The Mandalorian has done a mighty fine job with making bounty hunting a "complicated profession," and I'd really enjoy if they wound up reluctant allies against a bigger bad a la the IG-11 arc in season 1.
In season three we were introduced to the Shadow Council, a group of Imperial Remnants more organized than the New Republic considers them to be. We saw Hux and Pellaeon, and we were told of Thrawn as being their leader. We saw Din Djarin offering his services as a hunter to the New Republic, as an independent contractor, to hunt down Imperials. A few months ago we also saw a teaser for the movie, with Din fighting snowtroopers and imperial walkers on a frozen planet. If the movie is, basically season 4 reconverted as a film, do these "insiders" really want me to believe their so-called rumours, when all reason points to the movie being a continuation of the story already started in the show? A few weeks ago, the news was that the actor who played one of the Imperials of the Shadow Council was going to be in the movie. That, and what we saw in the teaser, points to a very different kind of plot, one that makes sense, as it continues what's already started. These rumours don't. And I'm not saying that Embo isn't going to be in the movie, as I don't know that. But if he is, he's not going to be the main villain, and the plot is not going to what these rumours imply. How can I be so sure of what I'm saying, you'll wonder? Well, I can't. But logical thinking is what tells me I may be more in the right than these "insiders" with their rumours. And if I'm not, all I want is a good movie. And Jon Favreau has all my trust. He hasn't let down yet.
I'd love an animated show called something like Galactic Civil War set during the original trilogy. It could have Luke, Leia, and Han and more of their adventures, but it could also have other characters we know like Hera, Rex, Omega, and so on
This is my take... If I remember right, I think we have had a report that Johnny Coyne's Shadow Council character appears in this too, so I feel like there will be more to this juxtaposing Clone Wars plot that ties back into the Mandoverse at large. I'm kind of reminded also of how TLJ worked (series of ruse = themes of failure) and/or the backstory of Rey's parents from TROS/SOTS. So maybe this is opening/ruse plot, not the real plot, but... Looking at this another way, maybe Johnny Coyne's character (sorry, can't remember the name off the top of my head) is trying to kill Rotta after they get information from him about At-Attin. I feel like there has to be a reason the Banking Clan and/or other Hutts appeared on Lanupa, let alone the rumor that at least Pockett may reappear, and she seemingly has a pretty wealthy client...It wouldn't surprise me if we do sort of have a plot where everyone is trying to track down information for where At-Attin is located and somehow Rotta is sspected of knowing, and Embo was hired to get the info and kill Rotta. Mando is low-key/secret hired (because he is now a contractor) by TNR to interviene, because they find out about it (as they were following the kids + Kh'ymm) and are trying to protect it...
It should be awesome to see brand new animated projects. My theories about the animated projects are that one of them could be about Captain Rex and the clone rebellion with Omega in it and the other one about the Star Wars Rebels origin stories.
Thanks for the update... but... Im not going to germ infested theaters post Covids... will wait for the streaming 😉 But that's just me... Again, thanks for the update.
I don’t know about you Meg, but personally I would LOVE to see a live action Hondo appearance in the new movie. It would be a great place to introduce him into the series and possibly see him and live action Ezra in action!
I think this sounds pretty cool. I haven't actually watched all of the Clone Wars series. I was mainly into Rebels, and Resistance as Star Wars animations. I don't mind the idea of the villain. He looks pretty cool. Having another bounty hunter kind of reminds me of the first episode of The Mandalorian, with that robot bounty hunter. I suspect that this villain could share the story with other elements, and possibly other villains.
I think Filoni is pulling a Plo Koon like in Mando S2 ,tho i think Embo will be apart of the movie but not the Main Villian imo, great stuff @StarWarsMeg keep up the content
You know what I think? I think Disney will use an old trick that they used almost 20 years ago. Similarly to how in At World's End, Lord Becket Beat Davy Jones into submision, I think that Thrawn might hire Embo to deal with Bo Katan's mandalorian faction (which the Mandalorian is a part of), since in the trailer, we saw Thrawn in the military base that Moff Giddeon ran in Mando Season 3.
I don’t think recasting Luke works now, because they did go with the deep fake route. With Leia they can and have to recast, and it should be Billy Lourd. She is the only person who has the right to portray Leia in my opinion, and it would be poetic, as George would say.
I have been saying for a few years now the same thing about a post Return of the Jedi animated show! An animated show based on Han, Luke and Leia set in that time period, exploring Leia's Jedi training, Han (and Chewie!) and Leia's relationship and of course, PEAK Luke Skywalker - as the Jedi master he finally became, would solve re-casting issues easily, be absolutely amazing, and bring together the oldest and youngest Star Wars fans - the oldest ones who have by and large seen these characters as their most important all-time favourites, and the youngest because its animated, and because Luke, Han, Leia and Chewie are the absolute GOATs.
What about Cobb Vanth? I want to see him come back in a BIG way. He has a potential to lead a new Star Wars show. When it comes to Star Wars animation, what I would like to see explored is the nearly 25 years of the reign of the Empire all the way up and including the final confrontation at the battle of Jakku.
He's probably more of an antagonist in the movie and not so much a major "villain". Either way I'm excited for the movie and can't wait. I hope we get a good teaser from Celebration!!
I hope The Hidden Path is about Hand to Hand Combat, Story of Ventress, Vos, Commander Cody, Every jedi survivors (including Cal) and Former Imperial officers (including Edmon Rampart).
That too like I rly don’t follow any leaks cause most of the time they aren’t true and if they are there only half right getting something’s right but not the full picture.
Fans and content creators really need to stop gatekeeping Luke, Han and Leia. Saying they shouldn’t be in anything else but animation. That’s balderdash, to be sure. Recasting for the New Republic era and getting rid of the sequels may not be what y’all want. But it’s what Star Wars needs to move forward.
It would be nice to see an original story line rather than rehashing a story that’s already been told. It’s a massive universe out there… let’s take a risk and go exploring!
I don’t see Embo being the main villain. This movie will and will have to attract casual fans as well, and one of the reasons that made Mando S1 so successful was combining the old with the new and being its own thing while still feeling like Star Wars. I believe that after the “experimenting” in S3 they’re more likely to return to these beginnings and focus on Din & Grogu vs. the Imperial Remnants and a new power player they'll have.
let's say that embo has been hired to kill rotta and rotta finds out and goes into hiding by faking a kidnapping in order to by time to send an assasin after embo. that brings boba fett and partner in. din and grogu get hired to find rotta and eventually all the bounty hunters come together and discover that it is some part of the remnant who is stirring this pot as a diversion for thrawn's attack. just a fun speculation :)
It's a controversy. I'm shocked. How many times do they have to demonstrate that movies and TV come before comics and books? As long as that's the case, there is no controversy.
If the usual Star Wars/Disney haters are against the movie, there’s a high probability that the movie is gonna be just fine. I can’t wait to see some more great Star Wars content. May the force be with us!
I think Embo being added and the main villain is fine. I don't know why everyone insists on Din going up against some kind of galactic threat. He's a bounty hunter. His foil should be one too. It's a welcome change. Going up against Gideon was a coincidence. He only fought Gideon because he took Grogu. If it were the hutts he would have done the same. Ahsoka can take care of thrawn. However, with that said, rescuing a kidnapped son of Jabba is a little lame. We don't want another rehash of the clone wars movie. Something original please.
To me, a show strictly about bounty hunters, would be boring. Especially if it's about a different one every week or so. We need time to develop an interest in the characters. Maybe the diehard fans who read the books would love this, but the people you need watching these shows to get the ratings, they don't read em. The Mandalorian became a huge hit because we had time to learn about an interesting main character, and it had a really cute alien.
I actually thought Mando season 3 was awesome, except for the one with Jack Black and Fatzo. Really, if you sort of delete that entire episode except for the very end where they meat up with the rest of the Mandalorian fighters, the actual important part of the story still flows pretty well with the previous and subsequent episodes.
When the average person hears the name Embo, they're going to reply, "Who?" Fans will know the character but the mainstream public will think it's a new character.
People get all bent out of shape from a rumor that is a leak. Embo "might" be in the Mando & Grogu movie and it causes a major freak-out. Just calm down, people. Freak out when you actually see the movie.
Star Wars fans will take an issue with anything….. I truly feel like the fan base won’t allow anything good and before it’s released the outrage will force short term edits and ruin things … just my hot take
omg people need to calm tf down. this character playing the bad guy in the mando movie doesnt have to be a mega villian. yall forget mando is a side hero like spiderman. he needs more smaller villans not galaxy/world ending stakes.
About the final episode of Skeleton Crew. I go for that when Jod goes up in the tower to take care of the Supervisor. It's not who he or we thought. We the supervisors chair turns around, we see a familiar face. Before Jod has the chance to do something George Lucaa himself jumps up saying. Good that you came, I need a lift. I've been isolated from this galaxy long enough now!!!
Here's an idea that would be wildly popular, Tales of the Bounty Hunters. You could have 12 episodes.
This is probably a villain not the main, it's probably a starting point in the movie, like Jabba's palace was in ROTJ
Agreed. Embo was hired to kill Rotta. He didn't kidnap him. The kidnapper should be the main villain.
@@serajardakani6034 I concur.
Yeah I think maybe he'll be more like the main antagonist for a lot of the movie, but not really the main villain per se.
Agreed, very obviously going to be the red herring villain before the real big bad is revealed
Not main click bait again
I think it’s pretty clear that everything ends up leading back to Thrawn….meaning everything leads to the Heir to the Empire books.
I still don’t get why they are Dave-ifying Jon’s movie.

I wouldn't put too much stock in anything. We have seen things in the star wars universe change on very short notice. And a lot of incorrect leaks.
I'd be glad if Boba Fett could make an appearance in Mando & Grogu.
They should do a proper animated sequel trilogy with Han, Luke and Leia.
let's say that embo has been hired to kill rotta and rotta finds out and goes into hiding by faking a kidnapping in order to by time to send an assasin after embo. that brings boba fett and partner in. din and grogu get hired to find rotta and eventually all the bounty hunters come together and discover that it is some part of the remnant who is stirring this pot as a diversion for thrawn's attack. just a fun speculation :)
It's a controversy. I'm shocked. How many times do they have to demonstrate that movies and TV come before comics and books? As long as that's the case, there is no controversy.
Let's not pretend that the comics actually count. Sorry, not sorry.
The worst thing about the clone wars is the movie 😂 I can’t believe they are just redoing it. If this is true Dave has no ideas left
A Zinj type Imperial warlord makes more sense.
Thanks Meg! Hello There 😃
Disney denounced the books and comics as canon.
If the usual Star Wars/Disney haters are against the movie, there’s a high probability that the movie is gonna be just fine. I can’t wait to see some more great Star Wars content. May the force be with us!
Lucasfilm really developed a phobia of actually using Din Djarin, didn't they.
We don’t need more animated shows we need more live action. It’s hard to get into animated anything.
They need to bring in Valance.
Can't see him being the main villain. That would be some low stakes threat.
Let's just retcon the whole sequel trilogy...
All I want is Boba Fett man
To me, a show strictly about bounty hunters, would be boring.
This seems like a very weird way for the story to go. It feels mis-informationy.
That can’t be the entire plot.
People get all bent out of shape from a rumor that is a leak. Embo "might" be in the Mando & Grogu movie and it causes a major freak-out. Just calm down, people. Freak out when you actually see the movie.
Wait, in Ahsoka did Jakku happen already??
Idk if its true or not, but im gonna watch it, maybe a few times because i need to figure it out wtf is going on
Embo is fine as a villain. This is a bounty hunter story. Let Siths and Thrawn be the problem of Rebels/New Republic.
Quick FYI I pass on the vids with leaks. ❤
It's not a retcon or broken canon if it didn't come from LucasFilm.
What? SW fans begging for live action Clone Wars now complaining they’re getting clone wars characters in live action? No way, who could’ve guessed 🙄
Do we have to ruin everything?
About the final episode of Skeleton Crew. I go for that when Jod goes up in the tower to take care of the Supervisor. It's not who he or we thought. We the supervisors chair turns around, we see a familiar face. Before Jod has the chance to do something George Lucaa himself jumps up saying.
Good that you came, I need a lift. I've been isolated from this galaxy long enough now!!!
