Places like 2:38 stood out to me because you replaced those smooth bends in the original song with something more pianistic, yet it preserves the original essence. These kinds of areas pose a lot of trouble to piano arrangers because they require so much creative thought to work around, dealing with the limitations of the instrument.
Thank you for the detailed response! When I create the covers, I try and make them as close to the original as possible. As a result, some of the end products are extremely difficult or unplayable by one person. In a few cases that has been acknowledged, and the visualization adjusted. If I ever released sheet music i'd definitely make it playable for one person (or very clearly a duet) Music man was a tricky one, but I'm glad you enjoyed my rendition! Not enough people understand how challenging it is. Aside from figuring out the notes and rhythms, we are bombarded with decisions: which voices to preserve, which voices to omit (sometimes it’s tough to let go of something when it sounds so good!), how to replace sounds that don’t work well on a keyboard, how to deal with inconsistencies in the original music, and what our audience is supposed to hear in the first place (playability? virtuosity? faith to the original? novel ideas?). Then there’s the whole other ball game of arranging: notating our ideas down with software. I think it’s all worth the journey. It’s annoying to see half-assed covers earn millions of views, but know that there’s a handful of people who really appreciate this kind of quality. Keep doing what you’re doing :)
