It was the "Bangladesh liberation war" aka " mukti juddho" started after the operation searchlight on 25th march by Pakistani army. After that, Bangladeshi freedom fighters trained by east Pakistan regiment officers and later by indian army, continued the fighting against Pakistan army. It went on 9 bloody months. India and soviet helped us with training and weapons. Later in the beginning of December when Pakistan attacked India's western front, Then india officially entered the war against Pakistan on 3rd December. It continued till the Pakistan army surrender on 16th December. December 3 - 16 was the indo-pak war.

If india didn't enter into the war then US and UK never sent their submarines. And Russia didn't have to come into indian Ocean. And one more thing Russia cam there to stop them attacking on india. Us or UK were not going to attack on bangaladesh.and it was due to the pact signed by Indira Gandhi and there is nothing to do with modi. (Even though we as indians admire him. You may like him or not it's none of your buisness at first place. We don't tell people either we like Sheik Hasina or not). And tachnically it was rebilion inside a country and war was b/w india-pak. (The way baloch people are doing today). And india did surrender 93k in just 13 days. And even we didn't have proper backup. We just used lies and fake news to turn them into surrender. Otherwise there was not chance that they may surrender. If india didn't jump there, they would have easily keep revolt down and condition of bangaladesh would be like today's baloch. Well still it is one of the best things that you guys got indipence and in the end it matters. At least you are not like pakistan doing any problems or conflicts. And minding your buisness.
