- The holidays don't have to look a certain way. Whether you have all the decorations and themes or nothing at all, no need to stress about what your day looks like compared to someone else. What matters is you do what is best for you and let others do what is best for them.
For our family, I feel like every year is different. Probably why it is really hard sticking to traditions.

I haven't done any decorating for Christmas for years and I don't miss it. We put up a string of lights in our living room about 5 years ago and never took them down because we enjoy the cheery lights all year long. That is the extent of what some might call Christmas decorations. As Christians, we celebrate the birth of Christ in our hearts every day. Wishing you all the best.
I am sick with Covid this year and this was a great reminder. No one can come visit but I ordered groceries, friends dropped off and wrapped gifts. No traditional food since I don't feel up to it but my son on the spectrum will be THRILLED with a relaxing day at home
I was in the hospital for the first 16 days of December. I haven't felt like decorating at all. Most of the people I know have not decorated this year. We are all older and there are no children around.

Happy Holidays Wee Family. We are green in Michigan too. 50 some degrees on Christmas. It is ok with a few decorations or none. I been having bronchitis and asthma exacerbation and my husband had heart surgery 3 weeks ago. Job loss this year. I am hoping for a better year in 2024.

I'm in Chicago and it's supposed to be 60° on Christmas.
I have a tree with lights only this year. No stockings. No other decorations, except the lights outside, which have been there all year.

I moved at the beginning of December, so my new place has just a few decorations hung on doorknobs. I also didn't attend the big family gathering on Christmas day, because I knew that 23 people in my parent's basement would be too much for me

Thank you for saying what’s been on my heart for the last month or so. Christmas is different this year for us. We lost my youngest brother suddenly and very unexpectedly, on May 30th. and it’s been devastating for both me and my sister. Neither one is feeling Christmas, but she has a family with kids, grandkids, in-laws, etc. And she feels the need to carry on with all her festivities and traditions. And I applaud her, because I know that it’s what she needs to do for herself right now, as much as it is for her family. I, on the other hand, don’t seem the same way, and no one gets it. Just putting it out there….I LOVE CHRISTMAS !!! I love family, and decorations and lights, and songs (up to a certain point,lol!). But I don’t feel the need to necessarily have that for myself. It has nothing to do with sadness, or depression, or grief. I just don’t need that kind of pressure and chaos in my life. I can drive around any neighborhood and look at the lights and enjoy them. I can go to family or friend’s houses and admire their beautiful Christmas decor, enjoy a meal or a beverage. I can give gifts, and not just at Christmas time. I can enjoy spending time with my church friends. I don’t need decorations and lights, and hoopla to celebrate. A lot has to do with the fact that I live alone, and rarely have visitors. It just doesn’t matter to me. Being with the ones I love and care for is what matters to me. But everyone has their pre-conceived ideas of what celebrating Christmas looks like , but not everyone understands that we don’t all hold that same idea, AND THAT’S OKAY!!!! I’m just happy to find that there are others who get me and how I feel. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to the Wee’s, and Grandma Pam!
I have an undecorated tree here and that’s it. It came with lights so at least that happened. This is gonna be our most low key Christmas ever. Leah really just is A LOT currently

I ain't in Christmas spirit. The only reason I have a tree is someone bought it and brought it to me and put it up. Nor are me and my family having the big Christmas dinner this year we going make tacos let the kids open gifts and call it a day I just ain't even in the mood this year
